Proud Canadian. I love gardening, reading, cooking. Dark sense of humour for an old lady. Favourite joke: What do you get when you cross an agnostic, an insomniac and a dyslexic? Someone who lies awake all night, wondering if there really IS a dog.
I never plant sunflowers because they re-seed themselves so well. This is obviously a cross between a teddy bear suflower and a red one. It's so pretty! I'll save seed from this one, but may never see one like it again.
Lily went to the vet today because she has a small lump on her back. To add insult to injury - it’s a fat lump. Rude.
We’re surrounded by fires. The smoke in this photo is funneling up through the Skagit Valley from Washington State. Fire and smoke don’t recognize borders.
This is us this morning. It will get much worse as the day goes on. We get smoke from the Fraser canyon and it funnels up through the Skagit valley. Now there’s a closer fire on the Coquihalla highway. Just a normal summer here.
Lily is diabetic and requires an occasional bath to help her son issues. We both survived today.
I never plant sunflowers because they are prolific at volunteering. This one is so unusual - but if I saved seed, it wouldn't be the same next year. So pretty, right?
My garden is doing well, in spite of cool weather and my inability to pull volunteers!
My grandson graduates from high school tomorrow. He wants to go into culinary arts. I made him a cake!
This is 1/4 of my garden. Mostly potatoes and dahlias, marigolds on the edge. Lots of volunteer cosmos, nasturtiums and dill. I never plant those - or sunflowers. Lots of those, too.
Iconic Monkey has dropped out of the Freedom 250 concert. Odd, because he has no scruples.
I bought this peony at a thrift shop last year, not knowing what colour it was. Isn’t it pretty?
We had one of these guys in our yard today. Not my picture, I wasn't fast enough. A leucistic blackbird!
Finished. Found a mistake. Don’t care. Well - I DO care but not enough to frog back?
