In some aspect, it was worth it Getting to experience some of the 3DS library— while also dipping my beans into curious curry (homebrew and custom .cia apps, basically) YT algo, for some reason, brought up the Suika Game 3DS port Physics & dual screen-wrapping are a bit jank, but it’s enjoyable

Reheated, re-tooled …Respite? It was #Ōkami 's 20th Anniversary (roughly, in Japan) Sort of the same deal as last time— #Amaterasu in a variety of poses just because it was fun to /create/ something There's still limitations present… But it was still fun remixing a lil' bit of the past (+ Issun!)

Three figures stare upwards at a series of brightly lit panels, each displaying Amaterasu, the wolf tail-brush goddess, in a variety of expressions and poses. One even has Issun, a bug-like wood sprite, created in reference to a rough approximation to Yoshi's Island's Baby Mario.
(also, Amaterasu is seen equipped with a jade-colored disc with a ring of fire behind her back. this is called a Reflector, i think)

Down at the bottom, the three figures have their backs towards the viewer. They're an anthro lion, a wolf, (based on the character from KarmaZoo) and a kitsune / fox spirit. Six stars faintly shine near the edges of the image.

Going clockwise, starting from the middle, these panels display:

A blocky kitsune / fox spirit is seen jumping with their left fist out to punch the air above. They are seen smiling while wearing a black overshirt, a red T-shirt, and jeans with shoes. They also wear glasses. The pose they’re making also seems reminiscent of a certain plumber’s leaping feats…

Below that, a small image of the same kitsune is seen with a shocked expression, putting their arms and legs out to accentuate their surprise. Only their waist-down and head regions are colored here— everything else has placeholder faces.

baby’s first #blockbench yey (really heckin’ rudimentary, but it’s art) (…haven’t gotten used to representing stuff in 3D a whole lot) (but the cleanup work makes painting onto and within the texture a sorta-cakewalk) i have yet to learn Blender …so this is a good starting point / compromise(?)

Dead-simple Kinda of a delight …Damn It started with curiosity, then it stopped without it Sleepless nights were spent jumpstarting & chipping away at a deceptively enticing task: Creating SOMETHING …All that to say, yeah— pretty enjoyable process Optimizing textures, dreaming of future addons…

Four blocky 3D figures are positioned within a white void. The void background has a small grid overlaid on it, the color of which is a slight grey.
(it should be noted that the figures are trying to depict a cartoon-like five-tailed kitsune / fox spirit)

Each of the four 3D figures are in a T-pose while they face towards the right side of the screen. Notably, the fourth figure (rightmost one) appears bigger than the rest.
Each figure received minor changes from left to right, either cosmetic or for convenience…

Version 1:
The waist and downwards have textures consisting of red, yellow, green, blue, black, and white. Each of these colors correspond to a direction in 3D space along an axis. The remaining parts have a colored texture wrapped around them, marking each limb with a specific hue.

Version 2:
All of the model is textured appropriately, and the cheek fluff looks to be directly modeled into the head as opposed to being separate parts. Cheek parts are in bright pink here.

Version 3:
Textures for the ears look to be out of whack, with red, yellow, and green showing against splotches of transparency. Cheek fluff segments have been made larger/taller compared to last time, and a plane-model for I-eyes was created.

(a plane-model here refers to one or more 2D planes in 3D space bound together. probably useful for displaying 2D images.)

Version 4:
Ears have now been glazed in a pink bismuth-like coating, and they have hot-pink markings to indicate where each section wraps when looking at the texture head-on. There’s also a dedicated plane-model for displaying the figure’s maw.
…Also they have a snoot.

Then again, it’s not like a wholly different medium can bring that same satisfaction Social banter and tomfoolery get replaced by a glaring skill issue in this “cozy battle royale” It /could/ lead to something, if I somehow “get good…” …But would it be enough to satiate that flicker of dim light?

they’re REAL …This was kind of fun Don’t know /how,/ but the good solid two days of creating and sticking stuff piece-by-piece felt good It just so happens that today’s date is also (roughly) the first anniversary of the show releasing …These two events coexisting was /purely/ coincidental

Two close-ups of physical pixel art. Both images feature a stylized version of Belfort & Lupin’s heads— their origin is from the eponymously titled show.

Cut-up index cards were glued together to fake depth, and the majority of the segments were colored using pencils, pens, and markers.
From the angle shown, these body segments cast a small shadow. Parts featured for both Belfort and Lupin are their eyes, eyebrows, and snouts. Moreover, Belfort (left) has his floppy ears, while Lupin (right) has messy hair and a segment of light fur that extends downwards.

(it should also be noted that Lupin has a wide paper segment of light purple around his eyes— something that was absent in the digital pixel art rendition of these doggos)

Low effort, but the thought counts— at least

(final verdict— no thank you, too steep of a price) (( $40 for one of the BASE games is a tall ask, too— 3D All Stars was a little better in price, especially when it went on sale after “Mario’s Death” )) ((( or, well, emulation ))) ((( that’s an option if the feeling to play is there )))

Pushing through frustration to achieve results, while not perfect… It /has/ led to places I didn’t know I could get to Projects, processes… Even a once-believed one-off game Practice just kinda does it for packed tasks …Still working on proper exposure therapy, but gradual intros do a decent job
