I like this quote from Martha Wells, but I think android & human-like robot stories are also about who gets to count as being human. Spoiler: Things that disqualify androids also disqualify some human beings.

C'mon, post 'em! Mine are the Eeyore doll (can't remember why I colored his eye in red) and the bull (Cinnamon). Brown bear is my sibling's. Quack Quack Duck was Kid the Elder's. Others from rest of my life. (Kid the Younger still sleeps with his.)

Deloria's book is a series of essays about the history, culture, and identity of American Indians, dismantling many white misconceptions about Native Americans.
