one of my very first poses of sumire vs one of my more recent ones (both are vanilla) i've definitely grown far more comfortable in my posing skills since january 2025!

i decided to, once per patch, check in on estinien in my longfic. see how he's doing.

When he awoke from this “dream” he found himself in the same place he had been before. Stark naked, wading through an endless void of hatred and despair. It washed over him, one after another— anger, rage, grief, pain, sorrow, misery, regret, loathing… On and on those feelings and emotions hit him, with no end in sight. His existence was naught more than a blip, a mere needle in the haystack of Nidhogg’s boundless hatred and misery.

All he could do was pray that the Warrior of Light found him, and fast, and put both of them out of their shared misery.

these two are my favorite lines, the first is from my longfic, where i basically had to push myself to figure out at what point ysayle decides to put distance between her and sumire, and WHY the second is from wolstinien week day four. i just love the imagery of it, the emotions and weight of it.

It was a moment of choice. Did she succumb to the whims of fate, and take her place beside Hraesvelgar, or did she deny fate and its cruelty, and travel alongside the Warrior of Light?

Her eyes closed.

His eyes open. The sun is rising over the horizon, its gentle rays stretching out across the wasted lands. He opens his mouth, wets his lips, and tastes the salt of his tears. It is the first taste he can recall since he watched her body burn.

oh god things have changed so much. okay. so originally sumire didn't realize her feelings until post-stb but i've recently changed it so that by the time estinien is possessed by nidhogg she does acknowledge that she has some feelings for nidhogg, but she also takes haurchefants last words to her to HEART and has decided that she is a HERO she is the WARRIOR OF LIGHT she is the legendary figure that her father used to sing about as a child and that means she does NOT get to have a lover. so while she acknowledges it, she refuses to fully act on it. but she does change!! she becomes more willing to talk about herself. she allows her personality to shine through and she stops wearing her masks as much as she used to. estinien basically made sumire feel more comfortable being her true self, and that is reflected in how she becomes more teasing, more mischievous, more open about (some) of her feelings

estinien i hc as having feelings for sumire as early as their trip to zenith, he just did not have the time to unpack all of that and did not care to because there were more important things to him. he reconciles his jealousy at seeing sumire's affection for ysayle as him being jealous for aymeric, when sumire leans against him and falls asleep on him, he doesn't make her move. and when nidhogg possessed him, he was unable to smite sumire even though it would have been a perfect opportunity to do so-- she was weakened and exhausted of her strength, even as weak as he was nidhogg COULD have severely harmed her, but estinien's feelings for her prevented that.

the last interaction i wrote between them was this snippet from the last chapter of my heavensward longfic. a part of me feels weird sharing it, since it won't be out for.... gosh, close to a month, but i'm also very happy with it so :3 you can all have a treat #Sumistinien

The clack of heels told him that Sumire had followed. “What are you going to do with them?” she asked, as he reached down to pry the Eye from the hilt of the sword.

“I shall take them beyond the reach of man and dragon both,” Estinien replied. A warmth was spreading throughout his body. He was alive. She was alive. They were both alive. And the war finally, finally would come to an end. “With this task accomplished, my toils shall finally be at an end.”

The other Eye popped out of the hilt, and Estinien held it in his other hand, a smile on his face as he turned around, once which was mirrored by Sumire. She gazed up at him fondly, her expression relaxed. Happy. It was a gentle look, one which seemed strange to see on the woman who had just slain a God-Primal, but the warmth from it pooled inside of him.

“Would you say you have time to go on an adventure or two?” she asked.

His smile grew. Estinien opened his mouth to reply to her.

But no words came out.

His body suddenly tensed, muscles becoming rigid and locking up, moving of their own accord. Pain suddenly returned, a searing, blindingly hot pain, along with a voice he had hoped to never hear again…

Thou hadst done well to resist mine influence, bathed in my power and blood as thou wert. Alas, in thine anticipation of comfort, thou hast lowered thy guard!

my main playlist for sumire is a playlist of songs i think she would dance to & it's her name (just written in kana) !! you can't see the length but it's currently 5hrs long 😅😅 however it's very helpful when i need to find a song to listen to when writing her (or sb else) dancing

the most frustrating part of the ongoing death of physical media is that hobbyless losers keep buying up manga/games/dvds/cds and grading them to scam people at exorbitant prices and it's actively reducing the number of physical goods in circulation on the market
