Can't wait to get back in the studio tomorrow and work on this new ink drawing I started more than a week ago. It's based on a photo I took in Kyoto and it's the most detailed and complex drawing I've started so far. I just hope I don't mess it up.. Here's a sneak peek progress shot. #drawing #ink

And here's a process shot of how this illustration was made. I drew all the lines and shapes in ink, only using two brushes, scanned it in, took it to Procreate to add colour. I *really* enjoyed this process and can't wait to play around with it some more.

Baohong cold-pressed 100% cotton watercolour paper. I've heard smoother hot-pressed paper is a much better choice for pen and ink art, but I like the texture. It's also what I already had on hand when I got back into ink drawing. I draw on its back side as it's less rough than the front.

HB pencil I got from a hotel I was staying at in Vienna (for sketching). I like it cause it was free and it gets the job done. It also has this cheesy quote on it which I'm quite fond of.

Liquitex acrylic ink. Nice, black, and waterproof. I like it because I can add ink / watercolour washes on top of my drawings if I decide and it wouldn't budge. I also like it because it's easy to get where I live.
