ADHD and big dreams! UX and #A11y obsessed. Diabetic and ready to yell about it. My opinions are my own. She/her.
I was supposed to move on Tuesday and instead we had to put our dog to sleep. Chloe would have been 15 in June. She was my best buddy for walks and hikes. Even when she was being a beagle (read: loud and extremely food motivated) she was the best girl.
It feels silly, but seeing all the places my blood gets sent to makes me so excited to donate again. I feel like it makes it so much more real that you're helping people when you can see the town and even the hospital it went to 🥰
Got an emotional support squirrel at UX360 in Atlanta. I'm loving the conversations but as always a little sad at how few companies are integrating accessibility and inclusive design
I know a lot of people dislike them, but I genuinely love squirrels and it's always a good vibe when one of them decides to chill nearby. They're so cute! How can you not love those tiny paws? The fluffy tail? The whiskers?!?
Listen, if you spent two weeks alphabetizing every book you own, you'd get a little unhinged with the box labeling before a move too. I thought about numbering them, but that way feels like it might somehow be even more maddening
Not me over here tearing up because I didn't expect to get smacked this hard by an inscription.
Today marks 9 years of unauthorized scooby snacking and general beagle chaos!
While my social anxiety makes me wish I could melt into the furniture as a general matter of principle, I appreciated that the team I interviewed with today offered me a remote emotional support kitty. Penny wasn't allowed to be my guest star today, but I almost wish she had been! Cat tax included!
Another double blood donation done! Officially hit 2 gallons donated! 🎉
This is a flat representation of art on the cafe wall, but it's extremely making me think about cheese. Also, hojicha dutch coffee is criminally delicious.
Doing your civic duty is important, even outside major elections. Georgia's public service commission election is important this year! Also, heck the conservatives. It's cold and rainy and still a beautiful day to see them out of office.
My very sleepy brain is struggling this morning. I grabbed chapstick and earbuds instead of my lancet and glucose meter. Gonna take the world's most accurate BG reading
If I were the sort of person who believed in signs, today would feel some kind of way. I bumped into a doe on a run and then came home to a deer calendar page
Free gloves as race swag at the packet pickup. The way they got around my fingers remind me of frog toes.
At the hospital for my godmother's lung biopsy and I decided to take a walk to ease my nerves. Hospital gift shops are weird, but every so often they have exactly what you need
Bought a double pack of my favorite bath salts and it came with a towel. The towel is printed with...judo moves?
Oh my god, it's still there and it still has the lion statues. Also, good luck convincing 7 year old me that these doorways and this etched glass wasn't peak art. It felt like the complete culinary experience. Might be time for an adventure back home to this place 💙
But in case you were like "Desiree, you just hate republicans, that chart is fine!" Here's a flat and non-political one. Can you tell me which category had the most sales? Can you tell me the percentage? NO.
Who could hate an innocent pie chart, a staple of PowerPoint presentations and Excel documents the world over for literally decades? ME. I WILL SHOW YOU. First, look at this mess.
I don't know when HP changed their logo, but I think the designer(s) who made the new logo didn't think about orientation. I kinda feel like my work laptop is flicking me off every time I close it
