Seeing your health and safety colander reminds me this caving anecdote (sorry it's too late to search the Derbyshire Cave Rescue site for the original, which site also has a cracking tale of a calf rescue down a pothole).
The Isle Martin Museum for #TinShedTuesday with added Very Good Girl.
Never ceases to astonish. The first time we heard the Sérénade mélancolique by Elman was sitting in the car on a rainy morning listening to Radio 3 waiting for my mother in law to emege from the Sunday service at Roslin Chapel.
The barns I knew were always (excepting certain extreme weather) open at both ends to keep the air circulating. The only doors from memory that were closed were the ones to the bulk tank room. I do have photos of a family barn on a hard drive...somewhere but this'll do...
Do love Glenelg but Dun Dornaigil is my favourite, if not this reviewer's. I mean there is just enough room for a chariot, but those selfish Iron Age folk.
All those public information were not wrong. Quicksand is EVERYWHERE. Including central Amsterdam.
Have the sorts of friends who surprise you with a bottle of mushroom ketchup.
He is an absolutely splendid feline! Matilda was the runt of the litter. And stayed that way - when she was 17 people were asking how old are kitten was 🤣 Her brother otoh was enormous (as noted by a former Keeper of Mammals at London Zoo). And their father was known locally as, ahem, bastard cat.
Celebratory (but a little sad, too) evening saying goodbye to my old office and times as part of the Language Technology Group @edinburghuni.bsky.social - wishing former colleagues and friends joy on their retirement! ❤️
I'm not great at #fungi, but pretty sure these are Wood Ear, Auricularia auricula-judae and Scarlet Elf Cup, Sarcoscypha coccinea. Lochardil, today.
We also visited Vicenza this trip, birthplace of Andrea Palladio. And ohmyarchitecture.
Highly recommend Enoteca Cremona. The photos are Hosteria 700. Idkiyk, Cremona is a centre of violing-making, and OH's starter was served on a violin form (mostarda cremona 🤌). Had the most heavenly baccalà mantecato, and risotto w/ tartufo e petto d'oca affumicato. *swoons all over again
Black Isle Brewery says hold my beer -Send in the Heavies Imperial Scotch Ale at 9.2%
I can't help but notice that, since we no longer have a cat, we also no longer have mice 🤔
