Honor those admirable qualities. Admirable friendship is the whole path. Forgive, forebear, attention afore.
Devo vassatu kalena — sassasampatti hotu ca phito bhavatu loko ca — raja bhavatu dhammiko. "May the rains come in time So that the harvests may be abundant: May the world be prosperous, May the rulers be righteous."
Every esoteric teaching has a mundane corollary. Thus are we storytellers.
"There is the case where a person of integrity gives a gift attentively, with his own hand, respectfully, not as if throwing it away, with the view that something will come of it. This is how a person of integrity is a person of integrity in the way he gives a gift.” MN 110
"And what is right speech? Abstaining from lying, from divisive speech, from abusive speech, & from idle chatter: This is called right speech." — SN 45.8
“One who knows doesn't get involved in whatever are commonplace conventional views.”
These mental venues we visit in dream remind us in mundane waking how near is the divine.
“There are people with little dust in their eyes who are wasting away through not hearing such talk on the Dhamma. There will be those who will understand."
Best to abandon the egotistical folly that some external personality is constantly judging you as a person. Look instead to this: experiential cause & effect, action & results. Moral conduct born of wisdom surpasses that born of fear.
Just as a sculptor chips away marble to reveal a masterpiece, may we chip away, greed, hate & delusion, unto #enlightenment.
What we see is a reflection of the mind. One person’s sunny, beautiful day is another’s day of gloom. Therefore, may we be compassionate to self and others.
You are bound to be misunderstood, it is unavoidable. May we respond with compassion, not anger or hurt, recognizing that act of misunderstanding as the product of a suffering heart & mind.
Regarding this body as a temple, knowing kinship as a basic truth, one refrains from harming self & others, instead living for the benefit of all beings.
May we find inspiration in good friendship, recognizing those positive qualities that give strength & joy.
Through rote reactivity one mindlessly becomes a slave of circumstances. May we instead find freedom through skillful self control.
One’s nutriment means another’s death, even if only the worms and insects in the field. Every morsel is a form of suffering, every life-giving food an occasion for deep gratitude and reflection.
Discomfort lays bare the path of liberation, & ease is not found in avoiding it. #Buddhism

“Happy indeed we live, friendly amidst the hostile. Amidst hostile men we dwell free from hatred.” "Sukhavagga: Happiness" (Dhp XV), translated from the Pali by Acharya Buddharakkhita. Access to Insight (BCBS Edition), 30 November 2013, www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/kn/...
“A person of integrity is grateful & thankful. This gratitude, this thankfulness, is advocated by civil people. It is entirely on the level of people of integrity."
