Last few weeks of suggested YouTube videos and Reddit threads in my feeds:
I just noticed that Jelly Bun, a GameBoy demo I designed in only a few days in gb studio 3 to learn about the software is now 4.5 years old, where did all the time go?? Jelly Bun is important to me because it helped me get my foot onto the game dev road I am still following today.
Finally! the slope code I had for GB Studio 3 is now recreated in 4.1.2, it needs performance refining but I have it working after days of trying, i'm super happy right now. Thanks to my friend (you know who!) that originally gave me help with slopes in 3.1 but that code can rest now 😀
Porting my GB Studio 3 slopes to 4, works first time every time.
I decided last week to port over my current GB Studio adjustments to 4.1.3 (the build before P+ was built in) and while a bunch of things needed to be redone to be compatible I am still happy with the performance gains for platformer mode. Left bar is idle in dmg mode before the adjustments.
My work computer was running on a micro atx sized cooler for a good two years, I finally swapped it out for a cooler so large it's comical to compare the old and new together. I was just lazy to swap it until now, also did not want to cause issues while finishing up Dark Reign or break something.
Hey look a game dev update! I can't share much but I do want to say a few things because it's been a long while since I spoke about anything I am doing. First of all Dark Reign is going well and has been my main focus for over two years at this point. pushing gbstudio to it's limit!
When a game throws out a remixed banger from another game that came out several years earlier because you had no idea both games were from the same developer
Name 4 games with a 10/10 soundtrack You could say it's a safe choice but all four games are filled with supreme bangers, you just can't go wrong.
After a few months playing on and off when I had the time, anime has been saved! Hime's quest is great and a good fun adventure, doesn't get too repetitive and the dungeon designs were just right, I even got a little lost in the final one until I noticed one room I missed 😳
Found some old Momodora fanart sprites I drew up years ago.
A few years back when the pi 400 came out it was an amazing system built into a keyboard and I enjoyed owning one, it felt like a 1980's microcomputer, a generation I was just too young to experiance myself. Now the pi 500 is here and I am itching to buy another one, I just think these are neat.
Actual selfie of me looking at GBVM and RPN math to figure out why a dynamic metroidvania map is not rendering when I swear it works in my head.
Turns out my box of gameboy spare parts had enough pieces in there to build another gameboy color. I also have an original red shell but I like the feel of the soft touch aftermarket case, it goes better with the mint buttons too.
Hitting them the the ol' one two before the game even starts.
Spooky skeleton for Halloween week (now not overblown from bluesky's image scaling)
I had forgotten all about this! it's a timeline from between 2016 and around the end of 2020 I redrew Nakiti in the same pose to keep track of my art progression. I've been way too busy lately to draw but the moment I can i'll have to see how my late 2024 style holds up.
An old WIP of Narmaya, I look forward to getting back into digital art once things have settled down.
My official splatoon 3 controller alongside, they really do feel the same with exactly the same plastics and feel. If this is unofficial it's 90% the same manufacturing parts and methods.
So I bought this xenoblade chronicles 2 pro controller for half what a new controller goes for with the description that this is a clone but you'd be hard pressed to find anything unofficial about it, I know these can often come from the same parts bin as official controllers so..
I don't tend to share these things but hey i'll give bluesky some love, it has been a good platform so far and as long as they keep things simple it'll be cool.
Cool thanks clickteam, can't even reinstall my original 2011 download I thankfully had on an old HDD because it just doesn't want to? original install key and all. Trash.
