Last week, I built the Trevi Fountain (a fantastic birthday gift from my family). I am particularly enamoured with the LEGO horse statues (shown in photo 3).
This arrived on my doorstep today! I'm delighted to have this work included in such an interesting collection of articles by fantastic scholars. 🎉
This adorable kitty has been bringing a lot of joy to my household lately. We adopted her in May.
I'm a doctor of history!!! 🎉🎉🎉 I am so grateful to my amazing advisor and all my committee members for all their guidance and support. It's been a phenomenal experience and I look forward to the future of this project. @crosehistorian.bsky.social @paulecohen.bsky.social
This weekend, I celebrated submitting my dissertation defense copy. 🎉
Fueling myself through the Canadian winter and final dissertation draft edits with personal sized Dutch baby pancakes. Highly recommend.
My full dissertation draft is submitted and I made a winter woodland cake! Happy holidays to everyone celebrating🌲
Taking selfies with koalas during a much needed respite from the Canadian winter. What a privilege it has been to be here with an incredible group of scholars for the conference "Trust-Building in Early Modern Europe" at the University of Melbourne.
I had the privilege of presenting my work in this beautiful room today at the CRRS (Centre for Renaissance and Reformation Studies') Early Modern Celebration! It was a great day of dynamic talks across disciplines. Thanks to @lauraingalli.bsky.social for being a fantastic panel chair!
Obsessed with these 3D beaded earrings my talented and brilliant friend, @writingmedieval.bsky.social, made for me for my birthday! I'm very lucky to have such thoughtful and kind friends and colleagues.
It really does make my day when I find the trumpeters in my archival documents.
Two of my most impressive Digital Soundscapes Project students from Brock University told me tonight that they have rolled out a game that has over 30,000 downloads on Steam! Check it out; it's super cool and free! QR code below for more free content. store.steampowered.com/app/3177380/.... #DH
Amazing talk by Professor Julia Rombough happening next week at the University of Toronto and over Zoom next week on Thursday, March 13!! (Details below) @decimauot.bsky.social @writingmedieval.bsky.social @crosehistorian.bsky.social #earlymodern
To add or not to add audio of myself singing a 17th c Giulio Caccini song into a very chaotic festival soundscape for my dissertation? These are the questions I face. 🤣
My Winter Wonderland-themed cake for this year! Happy holidays to all who are celebrating! 🩵❄️☃️
Excited for SCSC here in Toronto later this week! Myself and my colleague, Charlotte Clarke, will be giving talks at our DH Panel: "Echoes of Power: Digital Approaches to Sound and Politics in Early Modern Italy." We'd love to see you there if you have space in your program! #earlymodern #SCSC
Took a slight detour on my way out of the Archivio di Stato di Firenze today and happened upon this! I find it extra cool that it's a reconstruction made of temporary materials (ie. cardboard) of an ephemeral festival monument.
Could not resist doing the Ferris Bueller-style zoom in on this painting while at the Art Institute of Chicago.
For our January newsletter, I had the pleasure of being interviewed for a project spotlight on the DECIMA Digital Soundscapes Project! @decimauot.bsky.social, @writingmedieval.bsky.social @crosehistorian.bsky.social Subscribe to DECIMA News at decima-map.net/decima-commu.... #earlymodern (1/5)
