SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake (2023) - This was an interesting one for me coming right off of the movie game. I just really like 3d platformers and collectathons and Spongebob so I was poised to enjoy this one too and I did, with a few caveats. Defenitly harkens back to that old style tho.
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie - The Game (2004, PS2) - [Replay] - This was my first PS2 game so it holds a very high sentimental value for me but even beyond that I still think this is a fun, perfectly servicable 3D collectathon, even tho I think I might end up liking BfBB a lil bit more.
Crash Bandicoot: Warped (1998, PS1) - [Replay] - This is a weird one. Definitely still like it more than 1 but a little less than 2. Regular platforming levels are still pretty good and probably some of the best in the series. All the new power-ups Crash gets are also a much welcome addition.
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back (1997, PS1) - [Replay] - This is probably still my favorite one of these. Looks better, feels better to play, more polish, many things you'd expect from a sequel. Qol features like the slide, tracker for boxes and easier requirements for clear gems all help.
Crash Bandicoot (1996, PS1/ 2017, PS4)- [Replay] - I started my yearly replay of these and when I got finished with 1 so fast on the collection I got the urge to try the originals again since it has been so long. They got some things right on the first try but this is a very rough first entry.
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 (2026) - Going into this I was kind of disappointed at the episode count as that meant that the next big arc from the manga (Golden Land) wouldn't be in this and that it instead would be mostly adapting side/in-between chapters but I still enjoyed it a lot.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026) - Watched this on my phone, through a camrip I found on Twitter. Sry, Lynch. Kinda did it on a whim to know what all the fuzz was about. I don't really know what to make of this. Was probably a teeny bit better than expected. Not the worst thing ever but not good.
Takanashi Kiara / Ninomae Ina’nis 1st Concert “Drawn to Dawn” (2026) - I addressed worries about hololive/cover in one of the previous entries so I will use this to just go over my thoughts but lets start by congratulating the two for finally having made it this far. So incredibly proud of them.
ZUTOMAYO - KEISOUDO (2026) - Fun album and an easy listen. Think I overall preferred their previous album a little bit because I was feeling the singles a little bit more. Also maybe a little bit too long/unfocused. Perhaps not a super strong coherent sound/throughline but enjoyable as usual.
Pokémon feat. Hatsune Miku VOLTAGE Live! (2026) - The long-awaited Live has finally come. Almost three years ago Crypton Future Media and The Pokemon Company started this massive collaboration, eventually leading up to this incredible and mind-blowing live event. State of the art. Immaculate. Bravo.
hololive SUPER EXPO 2026 & hololive 7th fes. Ridin’ on Dreams - I'm gonna mention upfront that I didn't attend any of these events in person but I did watch all the concerts through streaming. Like in the 4 years before I had to pull all-nighters or get up at 5am but it was very much worth it again.
Digimon Rumble Arena (2001, PS1) - [Replay] - I unlocked every single character for which I had to clear arcade mode 9 times. Huge mistake. Kind of mindless and basic but servicable. Some characters are very clearly much better than others. Don't play this at anything higher than easy.
Gorillaz - The Mountain, the Moon Cave and the Sad God (2026) - A beautiful companion piece for the new album. Gorgeous about 8-minute long 2d-animated short film that harkens back to like old classic Disney movies like Jungle Book. Great animation and jaw-dropping background.
Gorillaz - The Mountain (2026) - Great and very different album. Takes the trademark sound of the band and like infuses it with sounds from East Asia (mainly like India and Arab) and the result is very multi-layered and fascinating. Sometimes it barely even sounds like anything that came before.
UNDERTALE Piano Arrangement Album - Echoes Beneath (2026) - Yet another Undertale remix album. Nothing too crazy, right. Well, this one happened to be produced by one Yoko Shimomura (the GOAT). She also happened to be one of Toby Fox's greatest inpsirations for his music (one lucky bastard).
Pokémon feat. Hatsune Miku Project VOLTAGE 18 Types/Songs Collection (2024) - Possibly the most ambitious crossover event of all time tbh. I've had listened most of the songs by themselves before but never to the full album til now. An absolute home run on all fronts and a beacon of creativity.
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X (2016, PSV) - Very complicated feelings on this entry for many obvious reasons. I will try to lay it out by comparing it to the rest of the series. At its core Project Diva is like your typical very arcade-y rhythm game series.
Aladdin in Nasira's Revenge (2000, PS1) - This was pretty bad. For many of these games I replayed there was at least some sense of nostalgia or aspects I was fond of but there's just nothing. Starts like not terrible but basic and just becomes a boring and frustrating nightmare by the end.
DecoMiku LIVE starring Hatsune Miku『Hello』Produced by DECO*27 - Elated I can finally put something on here that isn't an old licensed game from my childhood lmao. The moment you think you think you're out they drag you back in. Yeah this was just fantastic from start to finish.
Finding Nemo (GBA, 2003) - [Replay] - Yet another Vicarious Visions licensed game, tho this was easily the worst of the three. Not a lot going on gameplay-wise but the like moving through water and some of the visuals were kinda neat. Generally just kinda plain and boring.
Spongebob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman (GBA, 2002) - [Rewatch] - This and the previous one I played were both developed by Vicarious Visions and it was interesting to see just how much they reused. Went a lot smoother than I expected cause I remember struggling with it as a kid.
Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom (GBA, 2003) - [Replay] - I regularly replay the console version or the remake but haven't played this one in a while. Interesting. Enjoyable in parts, expectedly jank and frustrating in others. I did like some gameplay ideas (jumping on enemies etc.)
Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout (PS1, 1997) - [Replay] - This was kinda dogshit. No nostalgia strong enough to make me think any of this was any good at all. Slow and janky combat with no real flow or combo potential and an incredibly small roster an barely any content outside of arcade mode.
Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors (GBC, 2002) - [Replay] - I always worry that I might be a little too soft on these types of games I played a bunch as a kid as I am familiar with their bullshit but setting that aside I cannot really recommend this to anyone but hardcore fans who need a fix.
Tarzan (PS1, 1999) - [Replay] - I remember this one having many parts that annoyed me as a kid but on a replay years later it went down a little bit smoother, still inda rough but there was some fun to be had even if it might be nostalgia speaking a little bit.
The Emperor's New Groove (PS1, 2000) - [Replay] - Yeah this still holds up well enough, nothing exceptional but this is some competent 3d puzzle platforming. This is kind of a hodgepodge of a bunch of other popular games in the genre but from experience that's a lot of licensed games.
