Having these supplies pre-positioned meant they could reach affected communities in days instead of weeks. Storing aid around the country also means donations can be accepted whenever they’re available, and leftover items are ready to be used for the next disaster rather than going to waste.

A recent warehouse fire in West Virginia left nearby communities dealing with toxic smoke and hazardous residue even after the fire was put out. Thanks to supplies we had pre-positioned in Atlanta, a volunteer was able to drive masks and gloves up to support the clean-up response.

That’s why we continue to strengthen a network of grassroots partners across the US, building community resilience and disaster preparedness, coordinating mutual aid responses, and supporting long-term recovery. Because preparedness saves lives, and when governments fail to act, communities step up

Over the year, between 500 and 2,000 people on the move are forced to sleep rough in and around Calais. French authorities carry out violent evictions every 48 hours, with personal belongings like tents, blankets and clothing seized or destroyed.

🏳️‍⚧️ Our friends in Fort Worth TX were busy assembling 150 3-month HRT harm reduction kits a few weeks ago! 🙌🏻 They’ll now be distributed to trans folks in Texas by Austin Mutual Aid and partners.

They recently got together with 50 volunteers to assemble the tourniquets - all based on the Palestinian-created Glia design and 3D-printed in Tuscon. They'll be used to treat people injured by Israel's devastating attacks on Lebanon - all that's left is to ship them.

We are very proud to share that our co-founder, Sara, has been named one of Sweden’s “Female Leaders of the Future” for the second year in a row! Follow along on Thursday (tomorrow!) via our IG stories as she heads to Stockholm for the award ceremony 👏

The kits are even delivered door to door by trans men who call themselves ‘the Milkmen’ (spot their kits in cow-print bags!) This is what thoughtful community-centred care looks like 🫂
