This is a smaller data center campus in Prince William County. During the derecho event of 2012, it was using a transport tanker of diesel fuel (8800 gallons) every couple of hours. More recent data centers are much larger, and will use much more fuel in the event of a major power outage.

I don’t want the old Washington name to come back. That said, Commanders is a lousy name. All that name evokes in this town is “not quite a captain”. I think something evoking their past glory would be more evocative.

In 1940, this house, brand new, sold for $4000. In 1974, my parents bought it for $40,000. In 2021, it sold for $875,000. Today, Zillow estimates its value at $1,250,000. I admit, the house was built solid, but it ain’t no palace. It’s a Cape Cod.
