I’m fascinated by the left/right dichotomy of Starship Troopers memes. The left adopted “I’m doing my part!“ while the right signaled its eagerness to do fascism by posting “Would you like to know more?” everywhere.

Very, very obvious to anyone who does not have dementia, that M S 1 3 and the words below the tattoos are added to the photo. I always assumed their logic was: M = marijuana S = smiley face 1 = cross (one true god?) 3 = skull (calavera = C = 3?) Am I giving them too much credit?

I struggle to understand how Starship Troopers (1997), an explicitly antifascist movie that eventually spawned several pretty good memes, managed to keep exactly one meme tied to far-right culture (“Would You Like to Know More?”). It’s a phrase I’ve only seen used by Alex Jones and right-wing spaces
