Lover of nature; fungi, native wildflower meadows, native woodlands, and all that depends on them.
The miniscule seeds from Sheep's bit scabious & a tiny noctuid moth caterpillar which must have been on the flower head.
By luck I discovered this juvenile Sparrowhawk in the Swallow shed, where it couldn't work out how to fly out either of the doors! It was panting & exhausted. I had to phone a friend & together we managed to get it out the door! The Swallows flying around outside went crazy!
Marsh cinquefoil gone to seed. Typical of wet meadows, Donegal. #wildflowerhour
Greater Bird's football trefoil & Spearwort, wet meadow. #wildflowerhour
Wonderful displays at Whitepark bay. Agrimony, Hogweed & Meadow cranesbill. #wildflowerhour
When you pass someone's driveway & it isn't all mowed! Such a pleasant surprise, so beautiful & natural looking. #wildflowerhour
This roadside verge part of Causeway coast & Glens council dontmowletitgrow.com is looking spectacular, now a beautiful meadow. @Love_plants #ontheverge #wildflowerhour
This area used to be regularly mowed at Causeway hospital @NHSCTrust A decision was taken to just mow a path & leave the rest to grow, & what a great decision that was. No planting/sowing required, just halt the mowing to see what treasures will grow! #wildflowerhour
My favourite climbers in the hedgerows, Honeysuckle, Tufted vetch & some Bramble. #wildflowerhour
Cycling past this old abandoned school today. The palyground has been transformed by nature. #wildflowerhour
Can anyone confirm if this is a Tree bumblebee please? Very dark & tail not white.
#NationalMeadowsDay dear to my heart, the various extensive meadows at Causeway Hospital @NHSCTrust managed for wildlife, patients, visitors & staff. So important for mental & physical health,an escape from the clinical environment.Birdsong, butterflies, bumblebees & so much more.
