College football by day. Timberwolves by night. Dive bar by day and by night.
Last day of the World Cup Last day of Minnesota Yacht Club Do you know where your BuzzBallz are?
Air Quality Index isn't at a level that usually bothers me (yet), but that haze is distinct and the smell of smoke is even more so in Minneapolis.
This made me wonder so just for the record: Four Timberwolves weren't even born yet when LeBron James made his MNBA debut.
325-mile week in the woods, fueled by no fewer than 15 sandwiches. I'll work on having more sandwiches next year.
Biked 100 miles around Door County yesterday. Saw exactly one house w/ Democrat yard signs. NONE w/ Trump signs, but maaaany w/ "America 250" nods. (Which ties to an observation from @normcharlatan.bsky.social last week, the latter replacing the MAGA as more palatable.) Anyway, this front page ...
Biked a pretty strong 95 miles this afternoon, knowing I had 5 more to the closest bar to watch the U.S. advance tonight. Modelo and mezcal simply sounded good.
Bad Bunny: So you see the success of the World Cup in these Mexican cities, and now England has to play its next knockout game in Mexico City at Estadio Azteca, and a lot of people compare England to Notre Dame football. Do you think Notre Dame football should play in Mexico? Brian Kelly: Sure.
Minnesota politics really can be a joy. Think 90 days in the work house will harm her campaign?
Wolves at Nuggets, 2024 Game 7, flew out on my own. My one hope walking into Ball Arena was, "One Wolves fan within an arm's reach of me, please." Luckiest moment was three guys my age, Denver residents but Wolves fans, sitting next to me.
Go to Rocky Rococo's often enough that you know the pattern of their coupon codes and can fake one online. Don't go to Rocky Rococo's so often that the coupon you got with your last pizza hasn't expired before your next pizza.
I would have canceled my season tickets. And I do not think I am exaggerating.
The most miserable and disappointing 200-mile ride of my life yesterday.
Every scene in Tour de Pharmacy is as absurd as this. Absolute cinema
You know it is the night before I leave for a truly stupid bike ride if I am watching Tour de Pharmacy again.
Brought enough money to Barnes & Noble for only two magazines ...
I am gonna churn so many miles while Cabo Verde attempts to advance to the knockouts and Uruguay tries to grease the USMNT path. Might even get off the bike before Belgium and Egypt perhaps make that path even slicker. Hot damn.
Wrote and published this just a few hours before Brendan Sorsby opted for the NFL. I consciously never went in and changed it ...
Confirmed my closest friend from high school is alive. Lives in Brooklyn, diehard basketball fan, ... "Working the Gelato stand hungover" I would pay someone for a photo of this ...
Spent some of today's wind-frustrated ride pondering all the Brendan Sorsby taeks. Two things can be true. 1) Gambling addiction is a real thing. The dopamine of it is chemical. All of us fight dopamine somewhere in life. Learning that is vital. 2) Me thinks Texas Tech doth protest too much.
STARK difference in paved shoulders on the Great River Road in Minnesota (just this side of the Iowa border, first image) and in Iowa (just on the other side of New Albin, into Iowa, second image). Would like Minnesota to do better, please.
Have things escalated down the street or is this warning just very delayed???
Well if I went to the Timberwolves jersey unveiling, and I am walking home now, I miïght as well watch the Sunday night WNBA game at the bar, right?
My dinner tonight will be presented as evidence at my competency hearings.
