Wow, wow, WOW! This book was such a suprise in the mystery/thriller category! I cannot wait to devour the future books in this series. I absolutely loved the intro to the story, and the absolutely fabulous main character, Peter Key. Everything that Peter has to face he faces with a surprising grit and a little bit of weed. This is a story that had be drop my jaw and say, "Wait, WHAT?!?!"

4 stars. I walked into this one blind and it rounded out to be a really twisted tale spanning decades-long thrills/crimes. What I liked most about it was the girl power collective efforts, where it felt harder to like, but still honestly too truly realistic was some in-fighting situations. Girls, we gotta support each other better!

Sarah Beth Durst continues to provide vivid and captivating cozy fantasies. What I loved about this book was the well-developed characters and their support of each other throughout their trials and challenges. I adore a good found-family book and this is so adorably and lovingly exactly that. Marin is such a great leader. As readers, we get to see her inner doubts and outward projection of strength for her shipmates and the people she helps along the way. Marin's persistence is exactly the cozy story I needed to read at this time. The shipmates, Dax, Perri, and Ree are all so lovely and unique, completing the found family so beautifully.

Some interesting magic in this book and I'm looking forward to where it goes in the series. This is a shifter romance, and very much a touch-her-and-die vibe. I did find the main characters well-developed and was left interested in seeinv how their stories progress in the series. The love-making is a little wham-bam-animalistic after a really nice tension building through the book, so I was honestly expecting it to be a little less quick. The overarching story is factional challenges between Fae and Werewolves (like a 'stay hidden' vs 'out in public' type of mindset war) and trying to stop life loss, it'll be interesting to see this play out as the series continues.

I was unprepared for this wild ride. This was my first Chuck Tingle book and I will be picking up more now! Just when I thought I knew where this story was going, it took me on an entirely unexpected adventure. I was laughing, gasping, horrified, and kept curious throughout. Let me preface this review by saying I am about 1.5 years into being a nightshift worker. I rarely have trouble staying awake for a shift now and utilize many of the tips and techniques this book emphasizes. When I do have a rough night, I can absolutely see it is because I have spiraled like this book clearly says is the worst thing we can do. That "all-or-nothing" attitude will wreck your chances for restorative sleep. If you really do just follow cues and let it happen, you really will have a better experience. Wealth of information in this book and I highly recommend picking it up if you are having a hard time finding sleep. Kayla Grosse continues to provide sexy and inclusive erotica along with a wonderful small-town romance story. This book very much focuses on a Dom/sub agreement, and while I won't pretend to know anything about that particular kink, I will say that this book seemed to do a good job describing it generally and respectfully for a reader to enjoy. I find that has been the case with every Kayla Grosse book I have read. Quick synopsis without spoilers: single mom, Lindsey, is a nurse who feels overwhelmed and exhausted, her friend (and future SIL), Morgan, recognizes her plight and suggests one drunken night that she should seek out a Dom to get her focused and disciplined and maybe a little release of sexual tension. Enter DomInTheWoods, Dane the Logger, a lumbersnack if you will, together they work up an agreement and the story only gets better from there. There are those who want to watch the world burn and this book explores what would happen if those people made a videogame that no one who started playing could step away from. This was a nice little small town romance to dive into. Breezy is your typical high-powered, highly-driven NewYork City art gallery manager, but thrown a sudden crisis and she needs an escape, moving to stay with her brother in Red Bridge(where he also escaped to years prior). Breezy wants to just have a carefree, no-strings fling in her newfound freedom and sets her sights on Tad, local sheep farmer(who also is escaping demons of his own by moving to Red Bridge and working a farm). Mind the trigger warnings, there is some heaviness here between the romance.

5⭐️ This was a fun and exciting cozy fantasy mystery to dive into. Tilda is a great main character and learning about her reason for returning to her found family in Plimmer Valley really made her even more lovable. The mystery begins in an unrelated event that shatters her return in a really interesting way. Tilda shows us she has drive and tenacity through the rest of the investigation she undertakes. This is a fast-paced wild ride of a horror! It feels eerily relatable as a group of social media influencers are invited to an exclusive island music festival and then things go inexplicable sideways in ways you could never outguess! The sheer volume of AI changes, gaslighting, disappearing of people from platforms, "only positive posts!", and some unseen but experienced underbelly is just so wildly compelling. Let me find the words to express how much I loved this book! I listened to this as the audiobook version and at about the 20% mark I pre-ordered the paperback because I love it so much I know I want a copy to re-read and annotate.
Every character has so much love and light and life to them! Moss is perfect. Torian stole my heart from the very beginning. Amelia, Dutch and Dutch's partner(I need this paperback book so I can spell these names right!), Celise...everyone is so great, the story is so great, that it is book 1 in a series is so great! Give me more sentient moss and cozy sci-fi, yes please!

This was my first introduction to E.T.A. Hoffmann. Knowing these stories were written in the early 1800s adds to the ambiance of the tales included. We are inundated with so many examples of shock-value horror that it's nice to see a step back in time and read some short tales in flowing prose. I need a moment after this book. You'll need a moment after this book. Alisa Dean, HOW IS THIS YOUR FIRST BOOK?!?!!
Let me start by saying Christina is pure joy, she is everything to make The Jezebel List work, the whole story, every turn. Danny is great, but like he is written in the story, he gets his light from her.
Christina is breaking out of the shackles of religion and being a pastor's daughter, and going to a evangelical fundamentalist college after a bad breakup and a real come-to-terms life change by writing a list of experiences she felt robbed of. Danny happens to be a documentarian that crosses her path as she starts her journey. Danny pitches making her list of experiences into a documentary and the story fabulously evolves from there. The found family is delicious perfection, what we all need in our lives. And, my god, the (I gotta quote this here from the book in regards to erotica) "...sexual expression, celebration, and arousal in the form of aesthetically-driven literature..." absolutely chef's kiss perfection. Talk about perfectly timed and on the pulse writing! Wow! I needed this horror now like I needed water. I really cannot express how perfect this story was and it consumed my afternoon and will forever stick with me. If you liked Wolf Worm by T. Kingfisher, you will love this story too.
Quick, no spoiler synopsis, Elena joins her boyfriend, Ross, for a family gathering at their stuffy old money manor with all the typical old money gothic details and looming eccentricities. The only problem is Elena was not invited. What follows is deliciously quick and everything you could expect and many things you would never ever expect. Get this book!
