Saw Star Wars Visions - The Ninth Jedi 1st half takes its time establishing history & character conflicts, showing the evolution of force culture & and philosophy, but once you enter the 2nd half, it's a hell of a ride. Some of the best, dramatic & creative star wars you'll see 8.5/10

Read Batgirl #22 Yeah, i see why now some are calling this arc the best one yet It's dramatic, cathartic, and dark, but ends on a bittersweet note that shows the willpower & deep empathy of Cassandra while being the best showcase of her detective skills yet

Read Supergirl Survive #3 This was legit an amazing issue, from the art to the dialogue to exploring Kara's grief very directly & the use of a new character was perfectly used It's genuinely the best issue of this story yet & I hope it gets even better as we enter the 2nd half

Read Mary Jane: Face it, Tiger #1 A genuinely well-done reflection of Mary Jane's life & impact over the past 30 yrs, with my only gripe being it being only 4 stories rather than 6 for 60 yrs This definitely left me more hopeful for Mary Jane's solo comic

Spider-Man Brand New Day holds back from REALLY pushing Peter going dark & some elements feel like fluff But it nails the core of Spider-Man's angst & the fun of crossover stories that highlight why Peter & Spider-Man, a humble & flawed yet beautiful hero, is needed in our messy world 8/10

Nolan's The Odyssey is beautifully shot, has a stellar cast with music that's ethereal but in service for a kinda gentrified Hollywood narrative with a sanded down Odysseus, not so great costume design & a ending that sacrifices a more poignant, bittersweet end of the age of heroes 7.8/10

Remember vividly seeing Jurassic Park for the 1st time & instantly loving Neill's role as Grant & I appreciate it the more as I grow A grumpy paleontologist who wonderfully evolves into a caring, reliable figure for us kids & the characters around him with this scene being one of my favorites RIP

Read Absolute Catwoman #2 It's a fun espionage/chase story, very mission impossible vibes & introduces some fun new characters that now make me think a Absolute Birds of Prey comic is possible I also don't mind Cass here. it's a subtle, darker take tho there's some ambiguity in the air

Read the final issue of Absolute Martian Manhunter & it fucking nailed it What Camp & Rodriguez accomplished on a artistic & creative level here is rarely seen in comics today. One of the best series I've read that tells a transparent tale of the mess & beauty of the human psyche

Read Batgirl #21 Yeah, this arc is a really nice change of pace & giving Cassandra's detective skills a unique challenge by only using her foggy memories as clues for a murder Has some standout & creatives pages done a way only the comic medium provides & has fun twists & turns

Read Supergirl Survive #2 This was a better use of Lobo than in the actual movie. We see Kara & Kal be refugees in a galaxy that's hanging in the balance with several familiar guardians also here The plot is quite fast, which makes me wish this was 8 issues, but it's quite fun👍

Read Absolute Wonder Woman #21 A more low-key issue with a good, heavy atmosphere around Diana whose stricken with guilt, betrayal & hate. The human cast also gets a needed spotlight with Etta's path taking her to Gotham & Barbara studying exactly what the Cheetah path entails

I can discuss all the amazing ideas & missed potentials, dramatic highs & frustrating lows, but I'm left only a satisfying yet melancholic finality They were Neighborhood Friends They were Kings They were Lost They were Outcasts They were Revolutionaries They were beyond Ultimate. They were heroes

Read Supergirl: Survive #1 Good start to an elseworld concept a lot of people were wishing for. Leans into a Cold War era anxiety with Krypton's doom & the tech is a cool mix of cyberpunk & retro sci-fi Wished it was 2-3 pgs longer as Kara & Kal's departure is a bit too rushed

Read Absolute Wonder Woman #20 A really dramatic end to the season of the witch arc that went quite differently than expected, but I think I did accomplish in opening up Diana's vulnerabilities & what would happen when she feels like she failed her friends Now give Zatanna her mini run

Read Absolute Martian Manhunter #11 The penultimate issue to such an incredible series & it paints a bittersweet ending for John & Bridget Regardless of how this'll end, this series has been one of the best comics I've read

Catching up on comics, Batgirl #20 has an intriguing & darker new arc for Cassandra It's kinda rare seeing Cass up against a creepy villain, so excited to see where this goes, & and it also hopefully shows more of her investigation skills Curious of what will be added to her past

Read Absolute Catwoman #1 Really good start, even besides the big character reveal in the end Selina has a good voice, great suit & has a balance of showing us her past & present. The art balances being both badass & cute, with the tech having nice style.

Obsession is like a modern-day Misery with bits of possession horror thrown in there that shows you the difference between a romance & a love story 9/10

Saw Jacob's Ladder & it's the best Silent Hill film Awesome to see where the series got its eerie vibe from. The first 2/3rd is basically perfect: Disorienting, nightmarish & melancholic Last 1/3rd has a subplot that, I totally get why is there, but kinda grounds this surreal film too much? 9/10

A tremendous loss. Not only one of the greatest Spidey writers but one of the best comic writers of his time He dared to challenge the status quo with his characters, putting them through hell & making their perseverance against such struggles all the more inspiring RIP Gerry Conway
