So embarrassing that Phi Alpha Theta has started posting ai slop to their instagram. Like, how disrespectful to their members. These companies are stealing our academic and creative output.
It even shows possible hallucinations. I could be an actress! Most are german-american something or another. What is so funny is though Antje is common in Germany now, it’s a Dutch name (a family name from my Dutch heritage).
Is there another Antje Gamble in environmental science that I don’t know?!?
Theft if my digital footprint. Also some accurate and inaccurate info… perfect ground for AIslop hallucinations.
Here’s a photo of them being cute. The boy in the foreground is the loud one (but so sweet to everyone, so long as he’s not at the vet).
We had a hugely successful IAS/Kress lecture in Bologna yesterday! Thank you to Dr. Sean Roberts for giving a really interesting talk on Francia. This Italian Art Society program is partially funded by Kress Foundation and this year we were hosted by the University of Bologna. #ItalianArtSociety
Love the Novecento Museum in Milan. You get to see amazing 20th century art and an awesome view of the cathedral.
At least Mussolini’s megalomania had more interesting aesthetics. (Not an endorsement of Mussolini 🤮 )
Got to see some of our awesome students graduate today, including a bunch of my advisees! Congrats to our graduates. Can’t wait to see what you do next. #RacerGraduation
So excited about our 15th Annual IAS/Kress Lecture in Bologna with Dr. Sean Roberts. The event is open to the public. #ItalianArtSociety

Update (clarification) from the American Association of Italian Studies:
So a ‘conservation’ account on instagram just block me because I asked about the ‘illustration’ they posted for water conservation (it was gAI). They didn’t just delete my comment… they blocked me! People really have the audacity. Receipts in photos.
Haven’t partook in bluesky caturday yet, but today’s a good day for it. Look at this adorable fluff ball.
Falcon in question (just before we captured it and released it outside).
Great 🧵. Haven’t been to this museum but the Frist Museum in Nashville did an Italian cars exhibition a handful of years back. Gorgeous to see them in person. Check out these beauties.
One of my research assistants needed extra motivation this morning.
Battled a pomegranate for this salad. It was worth it. So good!
Watched a bunch of super smart and talented students graduate this morning. It’s always fun to see them celebrated!
Ugh. After tomorrow’s day off (mostly watching cheesy Christmas movies) I’m back to grading. Having a tough go of it… so pomodoro it is. I have no motivation, even after bribing myself with a fancy coffee drink at a local coffee shop.
Check out this weird ai bot account that followed me (blocked now). If you zoom into the photo there is an ai artifact in the right side of the glasses frame.
When Danielle Mužina and I proposed our #SECAC25 panel, we weren’t sure anyone would be interested. Not only did we have four amazing panelists (Casey Wolhar, Colleen Merrill, Claudia Wilburn, and Sarah Odens) but everyone showed up to hear about their work.
