Abstract
Consider a graph whose vertices are colored in one of two colors, say black or white. A white vertex is called integrated if it has at least as many black neighbors as white neighbors, and similarly for a black vertex. Universities should carefully evaluate and scrutinize formal and informal arrangements before accepting gifts or contracts from, or entering into collaborative relationships with, foreign entities or individuals.

Institutional neutrality is a foundational component of a university’s commitment to its core purpose. To maintain public confidence and avoid politicization, universities — and their administrative leaders, including those in charge of academic units like schools, departments, and research centers — must refrain from taking institutional positions on political or social matters that are not directly connected to their core purpose.

If faculty and students seek to pursue the truth wherever it lies, a university cannot have a political ideology or pursue a particular vision of social change

While a forward (Team A) takes a shot on the goal, a midfielder (Team A) is standing in an offside position on the goal line. The midfielder does not attempt to play the ball and does not challenge the goalkeeper and other Team B players (no impact on the opponents). The ball goes directly into the goal. What is the correct decision?
The referee awards a goal because the midfielder has not committed an offside offence.

@chadtopaz.bsky.social 's new book has also just earned my elusive "Finished it the day it arrived" endorsement. If you are interested in an engaging, non-technical explanation of how mathematical tools can be used to address social justice issues, I cannot recommend this book enough.
