Rosh Chodesh Elul Tov to those who are aware of this. Tonight’s new moon means we are a month away from Rosh Hashanah.
If any parents are stuck for an idea, my daughter and I built this today. It will move to the wind generated by a hand held fan. BrioMec is great.
This is what a flood prevention and wildlife pond near us looks like. Drought is real.
Hard hard agree. I have a lot of these: but they’re by no means perfect. Built-in is the only way.
Exhibit A for the nastiness of Rod Liddle. That The Spectator saw fit to publish it is yet another story. Label to avoid accidental exposure.
Shabbat Shalom one and all. A visitor to our garden this week…
I wonder if AB realises that this may be the high point of his premiership?
I get that marketing strategy has demands, but I’m not at all sure that “dystopian” describes the society in Ian McEwan’s ‘What We Can Know’: it seems rather pleasant and interesting - though living in the aftermath of upheaval.
Sad to read of the death of Rev. Dr. John T. Pawlikowski, a scholar and leader in interfaith relations. His work on faith after Auschwitz will be used by my group in Poland next week…
Shabbat Shalom one and all. A week of reminders about how fragile things can be.
So sad to learn that Lesley Urbach of @gen2genuk.bsky.social has died. She was a visionary whose generosity and enthusiasm were limitless. This picture taken just ten days ago at G2G’s tenth anniversary celebration. We shall all miss her greatly: UK Holocaust Education is much poorer for her loss.
I think it’s kind of the Express to show lemmings the end of the process. Have they not learned anything?!
Ten years since the UK made a catastrophic error of judgement based on prejudice, ignorance, and trust in the unworthy. An error which has cost us; materially, culturally, politically, and spiritually. What a waste of a decade.
Hate must have no place in our society. No one should be “emboldened” to do this kind of thing. Solidarity with anyone who is scared right now. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
Remembering the shock and sadness at the murder of Jo Cox MP ten years ago today and wishing her family peace. Her insistence that we have more in common than that which divides us feels even more distant today.
Delightful to attend the tenth anniversary celebration of @gen2genuk.bsky.social this afternoon. The importance of telling real, powerful, personal stories based on accurate information and solid understanding has never been greater.
Shabbat Shalom one and all: where the tide meets its rest. Mikkolot mayim, mayim rabim….
I’m reading Rokhl Auerbach’s memoir, “Warsaw Testament” and struck by the fact that she died fifty years ago today.
Shabbat Shalom one and all. Onward. (This is sadly not a photo from my week, but six years ago…)
It’s good to see that antisemites pay close enough attention in RS lessons to know that squid is also treif. But it’s also really tiring… framingthequestion.blog/2026/05/09/c...
The threat to community cohesion is real, and threatens us all. We stand or fall together. framingthequestion.blog/2026/05/09/c...
Shabbat Shalom one and all. Wishing everyone peace and security and belonging.
Which at least outshines the “What, me worry?” contingent but is still not helping.
It took her 4 days to give a non-answer. I’m so tired of smug lefties trying to tell me that their estimation of what’s important is all that matters.
