Clinical scientist at UNC-CH (anxiety, pain, intensive longitudinal data). Not a director of clinical training just now. Past Pres. of APCS. Occasional music, more about Doctor Who than you might expect. Posts are personal, not work.
I read through some of the replies and I guess maybe I'm unusual in that this one hit me particularly hard but that's on brand I guess
Men, what is preventing your bathroom bookshelf from looking like this
What are the chances that Sweet Carolina BBQ Stack in a McDonald's in the UK resembles anything someone from NC would recognize?
Swan training continues apace (not pictured, the ducks that just could not figure out how to get all the ducklings on the same side of the fence going across the water)
It was a lot of fun! They each played at least one of my favorite songs (Like a Motorway; Sukie in the Graveyard)
So Sue Perkins was conducting an orchestra a block away from the flat I'm staying in so obviously I had to go see...
The headline and I think the article itself is misleading in that the contributing factor was what kind of job women had, not what each woman did on the job as an individual. To my mind the implied intervention would be "get a desk job" not "lean forward less."
I'm at the Freud Museum in London, which is in Freud's last dwelling, a nice house on a street of nice houses. At a guess, largely paid for by fees from American psychiatrists who wanted to become psychoanalysts and so went to Vienna to be analysed by Freud. (Will update if I find otherwise within)
Trooping the colour in London. (King's early military birthday party)
Sculptures at Ekeberg Park in Oslo. Today I learned that the city bought this land to develop a place for factory workers to go to get away from polluted air and the crowds. So then of course a few years later Edvard Munch gets anxious there and has the idea for The Scream. Artists. So ungrateful.
The Scream (painted version) emerges for one of its four daily half hour shifts.
And here's the Munch Museum from the Oslo Opera House roof, with seagulls.

I swear to you I did not rearrange anything before taking this picture, this is actually the way my corresponding bookshelf looks
Someone has been gifting faculty with tiny pink ducks for unknown reasons (I mean other than whimsy). I found today I had received one myself. I've set a monster from Doctor Who to watch over it...
