On a rainy day in #AshevilleNC, the last day of the @noaa.gov’s Collaboration Network’s #ArtificialIntelligence Summit, many discussions were held about the current state of AI, its future prospects, cautionary tales, and the possibilities it holds.
Off to #AshevilleNC for the @noaa.gov Collaboration Network Meeting! This year’s focus is #ArtificialIntelligence, and I’m looking forward to sharing ideas, learning from colleagues, and advancing responsible AI.

Heartbreaking loss in the #WildlandFire community during the #KnowlesFire and #GoreFire. Thinking of the families, crews, and colleagues mourning 3 firefighters lost in the line of duty, and wishing the injured a full recovery. Make that two in a row, as #ExtremelyCritical #FireWeather conditions are also forecast by the @nws.noaa.gov for tomorrow (Monday May 18th) for the same region. #FireWx
8:48 AM CDT, 5/17: The @nws.noaa.gov is forecasting #ExtremelyCritical #FireWeather across parts of #NewMexico, the #Texas and #Oklahoma Panhandles, southeast #Colorado, and southwest #Kansas today. After recent #wildfire outbreaks, any existing or new #fires may spread rapidly. #FireWx
@nws.noaa.gov AMA 5/15 @ 5:30 PM: “Multiple wildfires are potentially impacting Canyon, Lake Tanglewood, Palo Duro Canyon, SE Amarillo, & Wayside. Have a way to receive warnings and prepare to evacuate if requested...Highway 207 is now included in the fire warning, and may be impacted by smoke.”
