West Broadway, Winnipeg. For bikes, transit, and livable urban planning. Wrangles data for a living. Wrangles my children when I’m not.
I think our household has a favourite, just by virtue of the ball we have.
Just found these in a collection of assorted small change from travelling: Toronto and Kiev subway/metro tokens.
The judokas at my kid’s club who compete wrote down their goals for a big tournament and they put them on the wall as inspiration. Many of them specify certain moves they want to try, or confidence goals. Then one of them has the best motivator: revenge.
Here’s one I like. And you can save it up in the fridge for a while till you have enough for a sizeable batch. I just bake em in silicon muffin cups.

It took me over a month, but I’ve finally cracked Elo 400. That precipitous drop followed by a ladder step increase is what learning looks like. Learning how to deal with the ‘trick’ easy-win openings that people of my rating like to try. And learning how to blunder less often.
Apparently underpromotion isn’t in the algorithm. Only because I always mess up and stalemate with the queen…
Sidewalk entirely covered by the snow from the Transit customer service centre’s parking lot.
The East Gate Inn has made an appearance. Armstrong Point-adjacent you know.
Although I made this abomination, I blame my children. Tasted good though.
Nothing about this empty lot in a dense(-ish), walkable and well-connected by transit neighbourhood should ever change. Not like the country is in a housing crisis.
Looking for a Lego, I took apart a heating duct under the kitchen. Found the Lego and found a collectible spoon for the MCC! I’m 98% sure which former owner would have had this, so returning it is easy.
Petroleum has a number of different molecules in it. One component are naphthenes. Here are a few:
When the six year old likes both finger weaving and challah baking…. (There no way I could handle either finger weaving or more than three strand braids.)
