Basically: you use the fact that it grows so crazy fast to give a non-main body of water in the same system even MORE optimal conditions (24/7 perfect light, ideal surfaces, etc), and then grow a super aggressive (but physically contained) species (chaeto is popular for reef tanks) that thrives
