(he/him) I never quite figured out the whole "microblogging" thing, so I'm hoping to figure it out here. Stuff I like Dragon Ball Professional Wrestling Chemistry Comic Books Star Trek Star Wars Other stuff that I can't think of at the moment.
I just read an old JLA comic where Superman can't bend some steel bars because of a mental block, and when the block is removed, he can't help but bend the bars, just to satisfy himself that it was always possible. I guess that's how I feel about Tenchi Muyo! now.
This reminds me of how much I admired the cover of the first edition of Dracula when I saw it on the Wikipedia article. Just red text on yellow nothing, and it rules. The 'R' is a little pointy but that's it. Less is more.
There's a learning curve to both. I had to look up Phil Fumble to make sure I understood the reference when his cousin Phyllis asked Fritzi out on a date. But I also had to look up "Dumbarton Oaks" and "Bretton Woods" to find out Nancy got their names mixed up.
Might as well join the dogpile on John Byrne. I think it's pretty rich how they put "All New! All Different!" on this stupid nostalgia project. It's the same old X-Men doing the same old shit they always do, drawn by the same old asshole who drew them 49 years ago.
Seriously, this has been bugging me all night, because I watched Death Battle's Megatron vs. Frieza animation, and with all due respect to the artists and VA's involved, Megatron once got bodied by a kid with can of spray paint.
Nostalgia only hits me when it's incredibly specific. For example, I never saw the cartoon "Meatballs and Spaghetti" when it originally aired in 1982. I was too busy watching the Smurfs or something. But years later, I'd see M&S in the ads for the CBS Saturday morning lineup in old comics.
They can make the whole game look chrome-plated if it means my CAC can use Gohan's Brainbuster DDT from Super Hero.
The art would still be great, but all the characters would have evil Tuffle smirks.
To be fair, the "Super Saiyan" article doesn't appear to be set up yet, so maybe someone used Yamoshi as a placeholder, but it is a pet peeve of mine. Everyone knows Lava Ape is cooler than Flamin' Hot Bootleg Vegeta
Aha! Found it. On the "Before Age" article. The entry for 238 Before Age describes the SSJ before Goku, but the link on "Super Saiyan" goes to the Yamoshi page. www.kanzenshuu.com/wiki/Before_...
It pretty much says it all when this WrestleMania 42 poster doesn't even feature a single active wrestler on it.
I don't know that tumblr is dead or dying, but most of the notes I get are people liking old stuff I wrote years ago, and occasionally, I get replies trying to argue with stuff I wrote years ago, like this one.
Post your favorite Lord of the Rings character. Wrong answers only.
"The Toy Story 5 Trailer Has Changed EVERYTHING For Me." Respectfully, sir, no it fucking did not.
They did a poll for favorite Hello Kitty characters, and Pompompurin won because he's awesome. Nothing but respect for MY president.
Hey, those cookies are people food, and--! Oh, I can't stay mad at you, Pompompurin.
I thought you were kidding about the stickers being buttholes, but I looked up this guy, and apparently that's part of his act. Respect.
4. Serenity (2005). Firefly nerds were hyping the hell out of this movie because it was their only way to undo the cancellation of the TV series. So I gave it a chance and it proved the execs made the right call cancelling the TV show.
