I only just learned of Miss Denise's passing. I'm devastated. I'm so sad - we're losing the "boomers" that lived - and put their lives on the line time and again - to secure the rights today's youngsters have failed utterly to defend. I'm glad I was able to do this for her before she passed.
I'm not persuaded when the "proof of life" newspaper has been cropped so the date isn't visible.
Happy Juneteenth! May you all have the day off, may you have a fantastic cookout to attend, may you never forget the history of this day. And raise a glass to Miss Opal Lee for her years-long struggle to convince the US government to acknowledge the day's importance.
I haven't loggedon for a while, so I don't know if this has caught attention, but Nichelle Nichols' family has won a lawsuit for negligence in her death. I'm so sad and angry. She was such an icon - one that shaped this little girl, who adored and looked up to her. She deserved so much better.

Packing up after many years in the same house is really weird. And it's slowed down by the many things you come across that you'd forgotten or mislaid. And then you just have to sit and feel what they make you feel. This, for example, is full of baby teeth.
