Basically true. There's a direct lineage from the horse to the modern bicycle. Hence still having a 'saddle'.
When you can poke holes through those aluminum rims, you know it's time for new ones. Isn't galvanic corrosion a cool thing? #ottbike
I've got an Arundel stainless one on mine. It's quite minimal, and still holds bottles well.
