A few years before “The Outermost House,” Henry Beston visited the Outer Cape to write an article, “The Wardens of Cape Cod,” for the World’s Work magazine. Beston was a guest of George & Mary Smith of Eastham, while they worked as assistant light keepers at Highland Light in Truro.
Step back in time with local historian Lisa King for a free and entertaining evening of historic images that bring the rich stories of Provincetown and Truro to life. Presented in partnership with the Highland House Museum and the Provincetown Portuguese Festival on June 24. Seating is limited.

Came across what appears to be the remains of a shipwreck from long ago along a stretch of far remote shore in Truro last weekend (at least two miles from the nearest beach access road).
