A bit of unexpected psychogeography in Swansea. The dead grass reveals the old tram lines preserved in modern town planning, criss-crossing the harbour side. Ghost trams travelling to their final stop at the tram museum at the waterfront.
Well @davidmbarnett.bsky.social I'm now hooked (terrible nautical pun, soz) since Withered Hill. Folk horror at its best. Any disenfranchised, exploited area will recognise the places in these books, from Ceredigion in Wales to Whitby in England, Scuttler's Cove has echoes everywhere 🦀 Recommended
I hate that I did this. Also Libra 🌞 Scorpio 🌚 yikes. My Big 3 + Venus Pantone palette: Libra Sun, Scorpio Moon, Scorpio Rising, Scorpio Venus - #D986A8 #5B2A4A #6C2F3F #8F3C55. Made with pantonecolors.net/pantone-birth-chart #big3 #pantonechallenge #zodiacpantone pantonecolors.net/pantone-birt...
I just got my first copy of @iwa-wales.bsky.social magazine and, chwarae teg, it looks tidy 👍 Much to dive into, incl. an interview with @queeremporium.bsky.social (you will be missed!) #cymru #lgbtqia #lhdtc Support Welsh journalism!
Beautiful modern stained glass in an ancient church. St. Peter's church, Caerfyrddin. The oldest continually used building in Carmarthenshire and the site of an earlier Celtic church (the churchyard is circular, indicating an ancient site) 🏴 #stainedglasssunday
No. That dog will be dead by the time anyone responds. Break the car window 🔨 and fuck whoever leaves their pet in a hot car. They don't deserve to have a dog.
Gwyl Ifan hapus, pawb! 🌞 Last night was Nos Galan Ifan, one of y Tair Ysbrydnos (the Three Spirit Nights). Keep cool, pour libations for EVERYONE in this weather (incl. wildlife), do your divinings if you haven't already and I hope you have a beautiful Midsummer 🏴
Is #spookySaturday a thing? Na? Anyway enjoy a random 70s family wedding slide I just found in my late dad's photo hoard. I've no idea who these people are but am LOVING the creepy summer vibes. Probably a #hookland wedding. Happy solstice/Alban Hefyd hapus pawb! 💐🌞
A Hookland fundraising gig, at the High Sorrow (inspired by @cultauthor.bsky.social ) #hookland #cutandpaste #90s
I generally mock online quizzes ('What Type of Cheese Are You?' etc) but dammit this was accurate
Dewch, ymynwch a ni 21 Mehefin! Picnic yn y parc 'Mwy yn Gyffredin'. (Byddwn yn mynd gyda'r Crynwyr lleol 🏳️🌈🕯️) Cefnogir gan The Jo Cox Foundation. 🏴
The timing seems right, so soon after divisions in local communities were highlighted during the Senedd elections. A local More in Common community picnic, supporting the Jo Cox Foundation, come meet the neighbours (I'll be repping the Quakers & Queers)
Hi folks, I'm happy (and surprised ngl) to be exhibiting some pieces in this show, in Neath, this June. Feel free to pop in, share etc, Ta!
Shwmae pawb! Good people of Bluesky, I present to you this international exhibition (held in Wales) of wonderful textile art. I have a couple of pieces showing here, so if you're in the area from 6th-27th June do pop in. It opens 6th June, feel free to come to the opening day! Diolch!
OBSESSED with this 12th(?) century font in St Llawddog's church, Cenarth. The celtic style head carvings, o my god. Wish I'd made the 'Celtic prayer' service this morning, but we had to head home. Amser nesaf!
#pubsigns I admit, seeing some changes around my old haunts made me feel ooold. Happily, Tafarn y Penllwyndu is almost exactly as my dad left it, back in the 80s! I like the new stained glass door, inspired by the original pub sign. Anyway, support your local pub, and fuck wetherspoons.
#StandingStoneSunday The Gellidywyll stone, in the graveyard of St. Llawddog's church, Cenarth, Cymru. The worn inscription is to/by CVRCAGN-FILI ANDAGELI (Curcagnus, son of Andageli) though I've no idea who they may have been! Very similar to the Bodvoc stone nearer home. Approx 5th/6th century.
Well, that improved my day! A local gallery just accepted my pieces for a group call out for work. I haven't exhibited in a gallery in decades, feels weird. #artsky #welshart #textileart #gallery
I can see the polling station from my window, and I'm hoping for the best, bracing for whatever.
As election day looms ever closer (vote Plaid 🏴 obvs) I'm keeping the Horrors at bay by doodling with needle and thread. Apotropaic stitching. Much more satisfying than paper and ink.
Er cof annwyl am Riley 💔 It's been exactly a week and I miss her so much it's honestly taken me by surprise today. Her ashes are due to arrive tomorrow. I'll have to find a sprinkling spot in the garden that isn't piss-scorched. Love ya, Stinks x
