🌧️⛈️ The downpour the last 5 miles felt refreshing. Long run this week is shorter due to my schedule, but that’s okay. This week was kind of a wash anyway in terms of training. Hopefully next week will be better.
Had to use the treadmill because of the bad air quality due to the smoke from the Canadian wildfires. Only easy 5 miles today because my legs needed a break. Also did a 20 minute abs/core workout and now doing a 20-minute sauna session.
Shoutout to the CTA operator who saw me come up the stairs right as the doors of the train closed & still let me get on instead of taking off. 😊 Another great Tuesday night run with Lakeview Run Club despite the 90 degree weather. 😀
I almost thought I didn’t have 18 miles in me today, but I decided to switch up the route & run a bit through downtown to the Hancock building. By mile 7, I was enjoying the run. Took this one slow, not focusing on the pace, but enjoying how beautiful Chicago and its people are! I love my city!!
Despite being tired, I couldn’t miss a LVRC run. Always a great time & group of people. Highly recommend it if you’re in Chicago. It’s open to all running levels even first timers. Total mileage today was 20.4.
Trying out some of Jack Daniel’s marathon workouts for a 2:50:00 marathon. I’ll probably try to do 1 of 2 of them per week. Today’s workout on the treadmill: 16 miles total with 2E+8M+1E+3M+2E E pace was around 7:10 M pace was around 6:27
One thing I committed to focusing on this past year was maintaining a consistent sleep schedule as much as possible to help manage my narcolepsy. While I’ve been a little off routine over the past few weeks and am working on getting back on track, my sleep schedule has remained 92–93% consistent.
20 minute abs/core workout + 45 minutes easy biking + 20 minute sauna session to give my legs a recovery day after running 81 miles this week
17.76 miles for the 4th of July. I still imagine how much better it would be celebrating our country’s 250th birthday if America would have chosen to elect its first female president in the last election.
Mile 1000 for the year. 50% of my mileage goal of 2000 miles for the year. Living in Chicago means running in the most beautiful city in the world. Took advantage of the “cooler” weather today to get that extra mileage. 😀
It’s always “be gay & commit crime” and never “be gay & ride trains.” Why can’t it be both?
LVRC pride run & drag show is tonight. Even if you don’t want to run, consider supporting local drag performers at the drag show which will probably start at around 7:15pm at Roscoe’s
It’s still June, but all the running as already gave me a nice tan. That’s one of the reasons to run shirtless is to avoid a t-shirt shaped tan line.
At the start vs the end of a 10-mile run in 90 degree weather. At mile 1, I was like “Maybe this won’t be that bad.” By mile 4, I was regretting my life choices. 🙃🫠
