On the coast, south of Adelaide.
Had a look around Glenthorne Farm National Park — Ityamaiitpinna Yarta today. Got swooped by a magpie (which to my mind, announces spring is here). This white faced heron was more agreeable:
Look at this sweet, photogenic dog. Captured during 1 of the approximately 123 minutes of the day where she isn’t sleeping.
Plus the food that gave that farkwit her living before politics is decidedly NOT monocultural:
Why though? Late term abortion is rare and tragic. My thoughts with people who’ve had to make this choice and now see this issue repeatedly used by political opportunists and machiavellian zealots.
Like, maybe finish reading the sentence, unless that’s too much for someone who does a quick google search and thinks the anecdata of various “familiy members” is more relevant.
Had a few (about 500g) of these on our small potter citrus - pretty sure they are rangpur limes (also grown for use as a rootstock). So for the first time I thought I’d try making marmalade from them. Have never made marmalade before.
My partner had a work trip in China and steamed dried jujube were served with his breakfast. I really like the fruit fresh, so ate this years crop fresh, but we did dry some from last year, so might try this.
Jujubes from our tree (Ziziphus jujuba), this variety is called Li. They are $29.00/kilo at the shops but very easy to grow in Adelaide (though trees are expensive). Eaten fresh they taste like a crisp apple & can be dried for chinese “dates”:
There’s more going on here in terms of differences amongst aged and gender cohorts than I thought there would be.
Could be interesting. Have cleaned out the gutters and now we wait. I think we have had less than 5mm of rain in the gauge so far this year.
The male yellow footed antechinus engages in such frenetic sex that so exhausts them, they essentially mate once and die.
Hazel says “Hi”. She broke a toe chasing rabbits and would totally do it again if she had the chance.
Something I learnt today. The Onkaparinga river, south of Adelaide, was initially given the name Field river, and woke Governor Gawler reinstated the Indigenous name around 1838 (2 years after colonisation).
I look at hodge podge old school timber floors like this with increased appreciation since the proliferation of hybrid/floating/stick on timber flooring.
Pity they knocked down the Maughan church autopsyofadelaide.com/2016/10/12/u...
The whippets quiet protest about the wood stove not being lit is to whine at the door like she wants to go out and pee, then when you get up to let her out, she jumps in the warm chair you just got up from.
