#OnThisDay in #ChurchHistory: Pope Innocent II convoked the Second Lateran Council in Rome, 20 April 1139. The Council was held to resolve the division in the Church that occurred after the death of Pope Honorius II in 1130. The Council decided that Innocent II was his rightful successor.
