It's locals week at the Ōamaru penguin colony so we're spending the evening watching little blue penguins coming in to their nesting boxes ♥️🐧

A view from the bleachers at the penguin colony. They will arrive from the sea and walk over to the right and come down between us all as we sit here. Apparently this is the best spot to sit! No photography allowed during the event though.

Going through our manuals today, I found one for the old heat pump we just replaced. 20 years is a pretty good innings! I'm obsessed with all the graphic design and explanations about how heat pumps work. Supposedly it was self cleaning but I beg to differ.

This is a stereo pair for magic-eye viewing, you can use any stereoscopic viewer like a ViewMaster, or London Stereoscopic Company's OWL Lite viewer. On a screen, you can just use two cardboard tubes to force your left eye to look at the left picture and your right eye at the right picture.

Spent this morning installing and hanging some thermal curtains to stop the huge amount of heat being lost through our conservatory. It will be very interesting to see how the house warms up tonight!

Tracking down a bug this morning that causes some feeds to degrade in CPU performance over time. Scheduled restarting of the workers causes the CPU performance to reset to baseline. I've been able to track and solve so many bizarre bugs by adding in graphs for all sorts of things 😁.
