In Dungeon Losers, you can't die as long as you are still Useful to your Patron Archmage. Your Patron Archmage just brings you back with an Anomaly, depending on how you died. One of the Archmages will slowly turn you into Doraemon.

Excerpt from an Archmage's Anomalies section from Dungeon Losers: "Anomalies
Death to Body -
1. Your arms or legs are replaced with mechanical ones.
2. You gain a pocket where your belly button would be that leads to another dimension.
3. Your ears shrivel and fall off, though you can still hear.
4. Your entire body turns blue.
5. You attract cats of all shapes and sizes.
6. You pass out for a few minutes if anyone pulls or pinches your tail or rump.
Death to Spirit -
1. You gain an intense phobia of rats, mice, and other rodents.
2. You have bouts of immense sadness and memories of another life.
3. You are obsessed with obtaining and consuming sweet buns.
4. You become extremely shy and bashful around cats.
5. You can’t turn down a request for help.
6. You overreact with extreme violence when feeling fear or agitation.
Death to Wits -
1. You have recurring visions of the world 200 years in the future.
2. You become megalomaniacal, believing you have the solution to any problem using the items on your person.
3. You are acutely aware of the contents of each of your pockets and bags at all times.
4. You become easily flustered during high-stress situations and will often grab the wrong item when you need something.
5. You become easily annoyed if anyone questions your abilities or performance.
6. You gain an affinity for mechanical objects and beings, and want to augment and replace your body into a fully mechanical form."

Tried the pan mee, salted pistachio toast and cendol bingsu at Dulu-Dulu. Not bad lah, but I still prefer regular cendol and how it melts.

Finally formalising a draft of .how Usefulness works in Dungeon Losers

Excerpt from Dungeon Losers, the section on "Usefulness" states: "Usefulness is a measure of how much your Patron Archmage likes or values you. It determines how much control you have over Advancement. It’s a track that goes from 1 to 12.

However, Usefulness is a double-edged sword.

If your Usefulness goes below 1, you need to escape before you’re discarded by your current Patron.

If you take on a new request from your Patron while at below 1 Usefulness, your Patron will increase the Danger Level of the Dungeon by 1d6 and add 1d4 Threats of their own to get rid of you (their newly hired Loser replacements).
If you escape your current Patron, you might try and gain a new Patron by taking on a new request from another Archmage and if you get to positive Usefulness again, they might take you on. If you do so, your previous Patron will treat you as an enemy.

If your Usefulness goes to 12 or above, you need to be careful as you’ll be deemed dangerous, hunted by other Archmages (or their Losers) and thrown in a Dungeon.

If you take on a new request from your Patron while at 12 or above Usefulness, an Archmage (including your own Patron) will increase the Danger Level of the Dungeon by 2d4 and add 1d6 Threats of their own to get rid of you.
If you feel strong enough, you might try and go up against an Archmage to defeat them and usurp their place. If you try this, prepare for the worst."

Excerpt from the "Advancement" section of Dungeon Losers: "At the end of every session, write a new Experience for your character based on something new that they had achieved during the session. Experiences must be at least 6 words long, and be specific to what happened, including making note of other characters who were involved. As a guide, think of one of the Rolls you made that might serve as a new Experience.
Additionally, whenever you successfully complete a request from your patron Archmage, they will give you a boon in the form of Advancement. When you return to your patron Archmage after successfully completing a request, increase each player’s Usefulness by 1. If you return your Patron Archmage without successfully completing a request, reduce each player’s Usefulness by 1. Then:
If you completed any optional objectives or side-quests that benefit your Archmage, increase each player’s Usefulness by 1. Otherwise reduce each player’s Usefulness by 1.
If you brought back relevant loot or information relevant to the interests of your Archmage, beyond what they asked of you, increase each player’s Usefulness by 1. Otherwise reduce each player’s Usefulness by 1.
Then, for each player that was helped or hindered by one of their Troubles or Scars in the process of completing the request, that player may choose to increase or reduce their Usefulness by 1.
Then, each player rolls a number of d6 equal to their Usefulness and picks two dice from the pool. One die value will be the number of Motes they gain, and the other is an Advancement associated with the value of that die:
Remove a Scar and turn it into a relevant Experience, Item, or Trouble to represent how your Patron Archmage healed you or compensated for your Scar.
Increase one of your Capacity’s Stress Tracks by 1, to a maximum of 12.
Hone one of your Experiences. Remove 1-2 words from it to make it more generally applicable. When you’ve honed an Experience down to 1-3 words, it becomes a Skill. When you ga…

Third time’s the charm! We finally won a game of Fate of the Fellowship. Things went well as Boromir never encountered the Ring and just played the role of distraction, fighting the forces of Sauron and drawing his eye while Aragorn and all 4 hobbits traveled to Mount Doom for a special delivery.

The only shot I managed to get of Free RPG Day set up at Hetr Be Dragons last Sunday before a very full and busy day! I did a bunch of demos, talked about local games with a lot of people, and conducted a very brief workshop on making 1 page RPGs. It was a blast!

Got to play a couple of games at Storygames last weekend - @vidityavoleti.bsky.social’s A Land Once Magic and @possumcreekgames.com Yazeba’s Bed and Breakfast. We made a world of music and cold and heat and triangles, and went up to the watering hole for some fishing.
