Not just you. I can't help but compare with TNG's "Night Terrors", where it was still disturbing & creepy but there was a reason for it. Sure it was a hand-wavy sort of reason, but they gave one. And, REM sleep deprivation is a bad thing in the real world, so they have a grounding in science.

Because it's Monday morning & everyone could use some toebeans.

A blue-cream tortoiseshell cat lies on her side on a grey sofa. Her face is out of focus, further from the viewer. In focus, her hind feet and one forefoot, crossed with paw pads & pink toebeans visible and fur fluff between the toes. She looks very relaxed and hopefully is inspiration for the viewer to take a breath and relax a little too.

Since you are so fond of robins (& with goodreason!), I thought you'd appreciate the ice cream Finch came up with. 🙂

Having not heard of Sjogren's, I did my usual looking it up thing & found this graphic for common symptoms. Where are they saying a ...cactus... can show up now?? 😄

They include dry eyes, dry mouth, vaginal dryness, dry skin, dry nose & nosebleeds, and dry throat with cough. (Sense a theme?) Most are illustrated with an image of the body part. However, vaginal dryness is illustrated by a desert scene with a saguaro cactus.

Another good option.

Feel free to improve on my translation but please be kind in your replies as I'm waaaay out of practice on the Romance languages.

A ball python named Slinky is mostly hidden in an artificial cave, but has stuck his head straight up about 10" and is looking directly at the camera. His back is patterned black and brown, his chin and belly are cream.

Apparently they make gelt (chocolate coins) as Bitcoin now, sigh. At least the chocolate was tasty.

I found a pretzel on the floor so, logically, I put it on the cat. She was not impressed.

At a check-in counter this morning, I got to meet "Empanada the Dumpling".

"Empanada the Dumpling 💙" is a stuffie Asian-style dumpling, cream colored with a crimped edge. Empanada has a smiley face, pink hearts for cheeks, and short brown legs. It also holds a pair of chopsticks. Empanada sits on the back of a computer monitor, with a label taped above the stuffie identifying its name.

A challenging knitting day. I noticed I made a major error last night, frogged 3 rows of the all-lace pattern. Amazingly picked up all the stitches without missing a one. Then re-knitting the rows, I discovered my needle is breaking. But! I have a duplicate needle! Lucky.

Goat ok? It is holiday themed in that the pic was taken on Christmas.

You can sort of see that the goat is standing inside asmall hayrick on the backs of two other goats (one black, one brown). Our goat looks both curious and a little annoyed, because I wouldn't let it eat my coat.

Pretty waves form clouds tonight. I assume from wind speed differential between top & bottom of the cloud. It looks like patterns you might see on a Greek vase.

Streaky grey clouds cross horizontally in front of a pastel grayish twilight sky. One of the clouds has turned into a repeating wave form, each peak curling over into a bit of a spiral.

I helped some friends get ready for the holidays today. This was by far their best ornament!

The local hospital has a volunteer therapy dog, Ben. Ben is ALL IN on receiving attention & pets from everyone in the waiting room.

A large, golden doodle dog is dressed like a turkey for Thanksgiving. He is thrilled to get everyone's attention. Yours too, please. All must pet Ben!

Gorgeous sunset from a couple days ago.

CPR mannequins are always a bit disturbing. The babies? 100x more so. In other news, I'm recertified for 2 more years. Feel free to choke on a grape near me!

A baby CPR mannequin, looking creepy. It is only vaguely featured, except for the open, plastic-covered mouth. (You can practice both emergency breathing and finger sweeps.) It wears an orange onesie. (Also important to get in the habit of removing clothing for CPR.)

Tried making kletskoppen today. You can see why the Belgian name means "Belgian lace". When you eat them, you understand the translation of the Dutch: chatterbox (they are loudly crunchy).
