I think Sturgeon can write a damn song but he, at best, seems completely insufferable.
Don't talk to me like this! It makes you sound much dumber than you think it does
My wife @idrafallow.bsky.social wrote a novel and it's pretty incredible. I'm obviously a little biased but, no cap, this has one of the best climaxes of any book I've ever read.
Obviously this is a statue and not an AI image but I think this observation by Gareth Watkins is still relevant. The sculpture doesn't need to be beautiful or striking, it can be ugly as shit and still be doing what reactionary art is supposed to do, as long its existence offends the right people
I think about this gesture all the time. It was small and cost him nothing but it's an assertion of faith that the world will one day be less fucked up. And I think that's pretty great.
Good lord. This doesn't even include crypto grey market gambling or predictions markets
Re-read with the fellas. I was less annoyed by this then my cohorts but was also pretty annoyed by much of it. A few posts up I said I was taking a Deleuze break but instead of the group taking our medicine and reading Hegel, we're going straight to Difference and Repetition. A first for me. LFG
Every time I start hiccuping my wife says "do you still have your antipsychotics?" which is a reference to the most annoying four days of my life
Suggesting that it's bad when war comes to urban centers does not make me a tankie lol
Pretty remarkable opening paragraph to a piece about convenience stores
Had a deep fear that I actually hadn't understood any of Anti-Oedipus and decided I needed to read some kind of ELI5-esque text (as much as one can ELI5 Deleuze), so this was great. Extremely clear and well written account of that dude's whole thing. Also I'm feeling good abt my understanding of AO.
OK I have one more Deleuze and Guattari related text to finish then I'm going to hit snooze on Deleuze for just a little while. Really great text though
Tried some Le Guin in the past that didn't take but this was *wonderful* Thank you (brilliant, beautiful) @idrafallow.bsky.social for recommending this for the reading group. There's so much to chew on here. Just a perfect breather book before cracking another dense text.
