Trump says he's removing Kristi Noem as Homeland Security Secretary. Since I'm not seeing many outlets quote his post directly / show a screenshot of it, here is what he said directly:

according to the kimi team, kimi might think it's claude because it was trained on recent code (that might've been coded by claude, if i understand correctly) from reddit AMA: www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA...

What's going on, would love to see this addressed." Below is a reply from "ComfortableAsk4494 CO-HOST" explaining: "Our observation is that with the right system prompt, it has a very high probability of answering "Kimi", especially under the thinking mode. But when the system prompt is empty, it sort of enters an undefined area, which reflects more about the pretraining data distribution. One of the recipe changes is that we upsampled the latest coding data from the Internet in the pretraining phase, and the data seem to be more associated with the token "Claude". If you ask the new Kimi K2.5 AI model who it is without a system prompt, it identifies itself as Claude from Anthropic.

It appears they have even moved from "appear to contradict" to full on "contradict," which says something coming from The New York Times who is always incredibly careful about their language. (When you click on the live updates it also says "videos directly contradict")
