Caught this perfect “I have a quest for you” moment of my cat Jack and had to draw it. I love playing with perspective and was simply delighted by the lines of the skylight shaft and Jack’s impossibly squared pose next to the speakers.

dom. His goal? To find the “Anti-Life Equation,” a transcendental mathe-
matical formula that eradicates free will and individual identity. It would be
silly hyperbole to suggest generative AI is a piece of the Anti-Life Equation,
but it’s straight fact that AI dependence is real and it is harmful.
In the “use it or lose it” sense, AI can make you literally lose your mind.
Institutions like Harvard, Stanford, and MIT are studying the effects of AI
usage on the brain, and the findings are alarming: attention issues, mem-
ory loss, cognitive decline, and worse. Outsourcing more and more tasks
to AI diminishes your ability to think creatively and critically, blunts your
problem-solving skills, and encourages complacency—making you a
passive consumer of output rather than an active generator of ideas. And
a big side effect that you become more susceptible to being taken in by
propaganda, disinformation, and conspiracy theories.
Bad actors take advantage of these growing
cognitive vulnerabilities, coupled with AI-supported
tools, to commit crime,
spread hateful ideas, sow
political and social discord,
and even influence policy
and election results.

literally based on Adolph Hitler. He embodied racist, supremacist ideology
as he led a quest to eradicate people without “pure blood,” exploiting his
followers’ racism toward his own ends. After his defeat, wizards refused
even to utter “Voldemort,” instead saying “He who shall not be named.”
It’s an apt metaphor for the way many white people treat “race” as a
dirty word rather than confront racism’s influence on our entire society.
AI has no such shame or conflict about racism. Through its very object-
ivity, it has recognized that embedded and systemic patterns of racism,
colonialism, patriarchy, and white supremacy are very real. And through
its objectivity, its output follows those same patterns. As they say in
computing: garbage in, garbage out. Without proactive, deliberately anti-
racist programming, AI models will continue to amplify the biases
embedded in our culture, leading to discriminatory outcomes in areas like
healthcare, hiring, and criminal justice.
Aside from its implicit bias, generative AI
has become a beloved tool of racists to
generate and spread racist content and
white supremacist propaganda. And
every time an AI model successfully
fulfills a racist prompt, it learns
that’s what people want from it.

Tech investors have been pouring trillions of dollars into AI companies
and infrastructure—not with altruistic dreams of a better world, but with
the intention of making bank. For some, it’s paying off already: 2025
saw 50 new billionaires minted by the AI sector. It’s the fastest, biggest
wealth creation spree in at least a century.
Meanwhile, the rest of us are clambering for the scraps. We face job displacement, stagnant wages, and an ever-widening wealth gap. We’re paying
higher electric bills to supplement the endless appetites of data centers, and
our tax dollars are being diverted away from things like healthcare and
education to fund AI infrastructure that we never asked for.
And if the investment bubble pops, we’ll be on the hook for the bailout while we face another recession to rival the Dot Com bust and the subprime mortgage crisis.

Looking back, I can trace a direct line from doing pixel art to doing cross-stitch patterns. The cross-stitching took me back to my love of embroidery. And the thing that got me into doing pixel art was doing Perler beads with my daughter and wanting to explore the boundaries of a "kids" medium.
