Monet in Venice was an excellent exhibit: lots of interesting context, influences, and contemporaries, plus, like, Monet. he was cranking them OUT in 1908!

a painting: Untitled by Mark Rothko, 1949. it is a vertical canvas painted with rough rectangular shapes in olive green, yellow, and mustard yellow over larger rectangular shapes in shades of pale pink and warm brown. it is similar to his famous style, but softer color and more varied shapes.

it's also set in an alternate timeline where the Axis won the war. the hero cop carries an MG42 and wears armor strongly influenced by the (ahem) WWII-era German Army.

Austin Route Zero i roasted this Portra 400 (sigh) by accidentally developing at twice the time (double sigh). the negatives are very dense and i thought they'd be useless, but they're workable despite the high contrast and color balance. Pentax 645NII + Portra 400 #photography #filmphotography
