The colander thing was much trickier than advertised imho. Actually ended up being cloudy here so we settled in the garden to enjoy the changing light and the birds. @tabisw.bsky.social
Just awaiting a call to join Bananarama as their new backing dancer… (Alternative singing taking place due to some people listening to the silent disco nearby). (2/2)
#FinishedWatching Ride or die. A well paced story, characters we cared about, action, humour (and a touch of violence too). Hoping for a second series. Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer smash it. We binge watched it. www.imdb.com/title/tt3049...
Tough but good running Harlyn “Half” Marathon today. All part of my efforts to raise money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. 👉 www.justgiving.com/page/emily-2...
📹 Here’s Jane’s husband talking about how incredible she was, and the legacy I want to help continue. All money raised “help children live happier, healthier lives, and to support those with cancer by providing practical support, and funding vital research.” (2/2)
Tomorrow I am running the Harlyn Half Marathon…a rocky coastal path to Padstow & back. No shade, tricky underfoot & “warm”. This is part of my training for this years’ main event to raise ££ for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. Please show support if you can: www.justgiving.com/page/emily-2... (1/2)
Last week I was lucky enough to be sent to work at the AI For Good Summit in Geneva, Switzerland. It was a long, busy week staffing a booth at the Expo and advocating as loudly as possible for everyone to include the public in decisions about AI policy, regulation, development and deployment.
A lovely evening with work chums yesterday for a little social jaunt out the city (Geneva) to Montreux and up the funicular…which literally has fun in its name! Thank you @timdavies.org.uk, @clmalkin.bsky.social & Emily for the chuckles and facts.
A good first day in Geneva with the team promoting Public AI Voice and Engagement (PAVE) at the AI For Good Global Summit. Set up the Booth, walked over 22,000 steps in Geneva (mainly to sort printing and buy adaptors) and got myself an early night ahead of the Expo opening tomorrow.
Excited and proud to be a new co-chair of Honeyscribe alongside the indomitable Deborah Bucella. Together, with the rest of the Board, we’re looking forward to supporting Artistic Director Amy Shelton and the incredible work she does connecting people, places and nature. (1/2)
Wonderful to spend the morning with @refugeesupportdev.bsky.social as part of #RefugeeWeek. Listening, learning and considering ways to support - particularly through Honeyscribe (www.honeyscribe.org) who are doing great connection work currently in North Devon and Exmouth. #TogetherWithRefugees
You have no idea how right you are Arc 😆 Having three jobs / bosses I increasingly find myself holding my breath on a Monday morning (particularly when I’ve managed to not work on Friday) wondering what I’m opening up. (The other inboxes were not the same, but every little helps 😉)
This is a cat check point. Relinquish your most recent cat picture on your phone #ProofOfCat
A wonderful weekend spent having my first #VanLife experience with my @tabisw.bsky.social, in our rented ‘Bodie’. Cornwall, beach, sunsets, food and quiet.
Lucky to have a hot Bank Holiday Monday on a Cornish beach. (Not lucky that it is so hot as a result of a climate crisis caused by us killing the planet).
Tomorrow I’m in #Exeter for the #GreatWestRun. This half marathon is part of a series I’m doing ahead of my main fundraiser - an ultra marathon for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. It’s going to be hot & I have had a bad cold for over a week. Time to get it done. www.justgiving.com/page/emily-2...
I am lucky that usually Fridays are not a working day for me. However based on how empty this train to London (for work) is this morning I may change my pattern 😆 This same train on any other weekday is rammed often with standing from Reading.
Weekend in Snowdon with wonderful cycling chums. Saw a waterfall, lots of slate, a castle and a giant’s blade. Strolled a little way up (Miner’s Path) and then summited on the Mountain Railway. Incredible views. Good eats and chatters and chuckles and memories.
An exciting work morning in #Plymouth hunting down a #LetsTalkAI bus stop. Played a teeny tiny part in the lifespan of this campaign with @connectedbydata.org and it’s great to see it out in the wild. Congrats to @suoman.bsky.social getting it over the line. www.letstalkai.org.uk
Today is #WorldBookNight. Share a photo of what you’re reading (everything counts - it’s all reading!) and let’s share the love. I’m reading ‘Sisters of sword and shadow’ by Laura Bates.
New(ish) #parkrun in Bridgwater (sneaky NENDY) now done. It has a very “new to parkrun” vibe, lots of walkers and young families. It’s also a PB potential course IMHO. I did a sub 9min/mile first mile 😱 then the wheels fell off and I hung on (walked up the hill on the second of three laps).
Back to my home #parkrun today. Warm in the sun, cold when not, drying underfoot and felt like a good turnout.
I visited the London Mithraeum recently. And in addition to the cool history-ness of it …. my mind was blown by the light / haze / smoke curtain. I can’t describe or explain it but it was cool! 🤯
Another wonderful weekend of London adventures with @tabisw.bsky.social including visiting the London Mithraeum; Bridgerton popup at Liberty; and Starlight Express.
A very cold start to #FinsburyPark #parkrun this morning but as the sun broke through it warmed into a lovely run (I’m glossing over the short sharp hill). A trip made all the better for seeing the marvellous @gavinfreeguard.com colliding out of my work world and into my running one.
Lovely way to spend International Women’s Day - talking alongside amazing women on PhonicFM about the Women’s Equality Party and the Exeter branch. (Part of Dreadnought SW “Occupy The Airwaves”)
Very muddy and very hilly Ironwood Challenge today. You know it’s tricky when they have to provide a tethered rope to pull yourself up the side of a quarry! 😬😳 (Including before / after photo) #RunningIsFunning
