A magnificent crone. She? Her?
The lady running a yard sale saw me coming with my big sunhat and scurried inside to grab a big of NWT sunhats and I applaud her for her initiative. I came home and deleted this hat from a shopping cart, where it would consume resources to ship and cost me 6x more.
“I wonder if there are any blackberries yet.” There were. These are the ones I could pick without stretching. Deer and groundhogs will enjoy the rest.
Unlike Ken, I have ethical standards for the entertainment I patronize.
“Throughout the 2024 cycle, purple and red state Democrats tried to tack to the right on trans issues, confusing opponent attack ads with popular support from the voter base. None of them won. But this year, Amy Acton thinks it will work for her this time.” Dems embracing the politics of cruelty:
Setting up a new bottle drop box and thinking how useful my skills would be in a gimcrack lil carnival c. 1908
from last night, I give you Pink Drink: blackcap (aka black raspberry) vodka c. 2024, the busted-up Sprite that the falafel guys gave us for free, and ice from the machine Spouse accidentally bought. A fully scrounged cocktail
I ran out of jam. Fortunately, it’s blackcap season so I can walk out back and forage.
I think often of the violence incited by quotations of “I Love, I Love , I Love My Wife (But Oh! You Kid!)”. These are people having IMMENSE FEELINGS about their relationships via song.
@dennisperkins5.bsky.social just brought this sturdy cardboard tube to me with both hands and a big smile. “It came with the new hose and I thought it had Crafting Possibilities!”
Egg candles, 50¢ at a yard sale, still — AND I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH — in the box. Ever since I opened it, I’ve had the urge to watch Showgirls.
My pantry beans continue to germinate vigorously for the most part. 9/10 pinto beans germinated so far, similar but slower germination with fava beans, no action yet from garbanzo beans but here’s hoping 🌱🌱🌱

just catching up with your timeline, friend, and I’m so sorry and so grateful that she had your care and support. Please enjoy this cat.
A neighbor complimented my ABOLISH ICE sign, and now I’m spending the snowstorm drafting a batch of signs and posters for her to distribute. No one can do everything; everyone can do something. We get through this together ❤️
I have never felt more like Pennywise but the children so often freeze once they get on the porch, which I realize doesn’t make me sound less like Pennywise.
