Ah’m awfae excited tae see the nae doot braw illustrations fur ‘The Puddock Wioot A Pond’ soon! Comin this November fae @luathpress.bsky.social. #ScotsLanguage #BuiksFurBairns
There’s less than a month to go until my Edinburgh Fringe run and I am FEART. My confidence is not the best after AI flipped what I thought I was doing in this life upside down, but I also know in my heart that I’ll pull it off anyway.
And this article includes possibly the best anecdote I've ever had published. 😂💩
An elephant once got stuck in the door of a Milngavie pub. Apparently. That’s been my research revelation of the day. I will sharing the first article in ma Scots leid history Substack series later this week! It relates to my upcoming buik fur bairns ‘The Puddock Wioot A Pond’. 🐸 🏴
Marie Claire might be open about using AI, but it tells you everything you need to know that they deleted the article after this was first called out by a Threads user. Embrace editorial AI if it’s such a good thing (it’s not).
I can’t verify this, but I 100% believe that Take A Break (also UK-based) is also now publishing AI content. And no, the Marie Claire article isn’t on Wayback Machine (I checked), but let’s be real, it was deleted for a reason after people on Threads noticed the AI feedback/prompt.
The article has since been deleted by Marie Claire, but here is the original link and screenshots. I am a freelance journalist available for commissions/shifts and I promise I don’t use AI to write! www.marieclaire.com.au/life/enterta...
I just got sent another one. This is actual punt yourself into the sun stuff when you write your own work.
Marie Claire actually left a prompt from an AI in one of their recent articles. While there’s still some great journalists and publications left, this is utterly shocking. No wonder I’m trying to pivot.
Ma fifth buik and third buik fur bairns is noo available fur preorder fae aw guid buikshoaps! ‘The Puddock Wioot A Pond’ – comin this November fae @luathpress.bsky.social. Preorders: www.foyles.co.uk/book/the-pud...
Ah’m launchin a new Substack series soon where ah’ll be explorin niche Scottish history in Scots. It’ll stairt wi a piece aboot the furgatten zoo thit became the basis o ma latest buik fur bairns, ‘The Puddock Wioot A Pond’. Comin this November fae @luathpress.bsky.social!
I came up with a braw wee idea for novel three the day. Always get the champagne. One is allowed for pushing on. This is the best book yet, too. #CathygetyerDancinShoesOan
I finished ‘The Hoolet Thit Couldnae Fly’ three years ago today. My first Scots buik fur bairns. Here’s a wee purchase link if you want to introduce the leid to a wee person in your life! luath.co.uk/products/the...
I don’t want to be online because of the state of the world and media. But I also need to do some journalism bits and plug the books and my Fringe show. This is fully self-employed life. So cheer me on as I’m about to finish writing a bonus chapter of novel three! Still maistly keepin the heid!
I hate being so sad all the time when I’ve got a book out in less than six months, hopefully two within the year, and a bloody show to pull off at the Fringe. This AI tech bro shit can’t win. I need to somehow prevail.
Me to the aliens planning to abduct the Brazil players tonight… ‘That’s smashin. Whit pairt o the galaxy are ye fae?’
🚨 FRINGE SHOW TIMES 🚨 After two successful appearances at the Edinburgh Book Festival, I’ve decided to brave the Fringe with a Scots language show. Expect ghost dogs, turtleneck fetishists, and my thoughts on AI as ah gie it laldy aboot the Scots leid in August!
Hard day ahead, but I am going to the Edinburgh Fringe wi ma mad wee Scots stories! And it’s going to be so fucking weird!!! My show is not for weans this time. Poster and show times etc coming ASAP.
Ah gat some new photies aheid o the release o buik five and (aw bein well) six. Wes Anderson vibes in Glesga. 📸 @martinvenhermphotographer #ThePuddockWiootAPond #CathyGetYerDancinShoesOan
