I'm headed to #SDCC2026!!!!!!!! This is my first time and I'm super excited. I'll be in Booth F-10 which I have marked on this ridiculously large convention floor map.

I assure you that flaws in anatomy, perspective, light and shadow are entirely my own. Sometimes because I'm tired, sometimes because I'm sick of a piece, sometimes time, and sometimes because of sheer oversight. A lot of the time because I didn't sketch enough beforehand. But all 100% human.

The printing prep for #SDCC begins. I have no idea what to expect, I have no idea how to prepare for a show this big. I'm excited, nervous, and feel ill prepared.

Long overdue update of my business cards. I finally dropped sculptor from my description and put paleoart on there instead. I feel that with paleoart being 95% of what I do, and the complete lack of sculpture for the past decade, it was probably time. I left "comics" on there for now.

I finished working on my logo and also an anti AI sign for my booth during warm up and cool down times. While the Vulcan salute on the human made sign was fully intentional, it was only after the fact that I was informed my logo looked like LCARS. Fuck AI and Live Long and Prosper bitches!!

I assure you all I'm alive. I'm finishing up commissions and prepping for SDCC. I poked at this project as a warmup today before diving back into commissions. MORE STATES!!!! MORE DINOSAURS!!!!! Hopefully I'll have time to finish California's before SDCC.

The day before ECCC 2023 I was in a head on collision that totaled my car. (Not my fault) I was on my way back home from picking up prints for the show. The prints were very damaged and had to be reprinted. I did the show with, I presume, a concussion. Which in hindsight was probably really dumb.

This is the map I made with either state dinosaurs, or state fossils that are dinosaurs (or some critter from the Mesozoic). If I expanded it out to other extinct creatures it would expand quite a bit more, but there would also be overlap. We’ll see how far I get. Dinosaurs first

A fake 80s style horror movie poster for the book Tyrant Lizard Queen by Riley Black. I tracked down a print of my all time favorite Dinotopia piece by James Gurney, “Dinosaur Boulevard” And I got the gorgeous Archaeopteryx print from @lewislarosa.bsky.social that he illustrated for Nature and was part of his recent Kickstarter. I got them framed… This is where my money goes.

I keep trying to simplify the design. The Stegosaurus, while beautiful and a great idea, might be a bit much for a logo. So back to the Brachiosaurus and playing with different colors and composition. I need to come up with something I'm happy with for years. So periodic poking until l feel it.

For anyone that was interested in this behind the scenes saga, it's not looking great. I changed all of my documents over 11 years ago. I now have a passport that can't be corroborated with any of my other documents or my outward appearance. Fuck this country. Fuck republicans. FUCK TRUMP!!
