#WIPWednesday : I finally feel like I’ve made some progress. I finished knitting the cardigan (can anyone suggest a shop in the Twin Cities with a good zipper selection?), started the second sock, and am ready to switch to ribbing on the tee’s sleeve. Details in alt text. #Knitting #KnitSky 🧶

#TourDeFleece stage 9: I intended to spin the full bobbin of the pale blue fiber today. But as I was spinning, I kept thinking about my knitting WIPs. I haven’t been very motivated to knit lately, so I decided to stop spinning early to knit. Also finished the 2nd Romney/yak bobbin. #Handspinning 🧶

#TourDeFleece stage 8: I spun on 3 different wheels today. I started by plying on my Lendrum, my first wheel and still fave for plying. The. I did woolen spinning on my Kromski Symphony and then finished spinning the bobbin of pale fiber worsted style on my Daedalus Martin. #Handspinning 🧶

#FOFriday : last month I wanted a quick win after a slog at work, and something easy to work on during a road trip. This fit the bill. Yarn and pattern details in the alt text. #Knitting 🧶

A finished handknit stocking cap/beanie/toque. The stitch pattern is based on ribbing and cables (pattern is Snowglobe by Tin Can Knits). It is knit with one strand of DK grey yarn (Malabrigo Arroyo in colorway “Pearl”) held double with a mohair/silk dyed by Tanis Fiber Arts in colorway “Stardust”. It’s mostly silvery grey with some colorful speckles.

This will be a spinning account for the duration of #TourDeFleece. I had a last-minute trip come up this week, so I wasn’t able to get my bobbins. Learned. I started the Tour by plying this up when I got home. #Handspinning

#SundaysAreForSpinning : I intended on finishing off some spinning WIPs before the start of Tour de Fleece, but my latest shipment from MellyKnits was so gorgeous I had to spin it up right away. But I also did work on some WIPs. #Handspinning 🧶

#WIPWednesday a road trip up to the North Shore this past weekend meant I got some good knitting time (not the driver). I mostly focused on the tee (body is now done) and hat (nearly ready for crown decreases), but put some work in on the other projects. Details in alt text. #KnitSky 🧶

#SundaysAreForSpinning : in order to get a 3-ply yarn out of 2 different fibers, I made my fist attempt at combination drafting. I didn’t do a great job of always drafting some of each fiber, but I think it still works. #Handspinning 🧶

The two fibers that went into the skeins. One is mostly natural Rambouillet with bits of yellow and green. The other is a solid green Cormo.

#SundaysAreForSewing : my youngest has been asking if we could work on a quilt, and I was in a sewing mood this weekend. It’s so fast compared to knitting. But damn by back is sore from hunching over this to baste it.
