Photographer. Runner. Sourdough baker. Knitter. Reveler. Mom of two chaos monsters, a wild young pup, and a very tolerant cat. Unapologetically pro-union and anti-AI. Crossed the border to Arlington; my heart belongs to Del Ray. Opinions are my own.
Went to the boardwalk on a Saturday night in Rehoboth Beach. Immediately figured out why we never made a point to go to the boardwalk on Saturday night in the past.
My dog is having her first doggy sitter sleepover with her new best friends. She might never want to come home. (She’s the black one with the tongue hanging out.)
That’s fantastic! I always buy them in the big multi-packs to offset the cost. I went through a LOT at my last job. (Me, on C-Span in the light beige mask that blends into my face.)
Anastasia has a double ear infection and the poops. She’s taking rest seriously.
It actually ended up to be fantastic; my 10yo daughter came with me for her first time at Wolf Trap and seeing Tori! A Core Memory moment for me, and she loved the experience.
Today’s “I am alone in the house and I can play whatever I want” album is the first play through of this new copy of Codes and Keys by Death Cab for Cutie. It is excellent.
Attention YIMBYs! There’s a fantastic example of higher density on a single family lot by Eads Park in Arlington. At first I thought it was a monstrous mansion, but then I noticed it was SUPER long, and the signage gave me the truth: 1, 2, and 3 bedroom condos! There was a single house on this lot.
There is a mobile Goodwill drop site in Clarendon that I used a few weeks ago. It was pretty full but they still took my stuff. The entrance is on N Danville St. and isn’t super obvious. Look for the truck and the tent and a sandwich board style sign. You’ll exit back onto N Cleveland St.
How do I have the most beautiful cat in the world? This is Lily’s favorite sun spot.
And… midnight. The countdown was a nice touch. Maybe we’ll know more tomorrow about whether this is now in defiance of a court order.
Hanging out with 53,000+ other viewers online watching the most visible scaffolding construction. The crowd is cheering every time they attach another pole. It’s adorable and heartwarming. Long live The Kennedy Center.
Just committed a big Bluesky crime and changed my avatar. I still love my Amber, but she’s been gone for six months now, and Lilly wanted a turn. How could I turn this photo down?
Karma police, I've given all I can It's not enough, I've given all I can But we're still on the payroll This is what you get This is what you get This is what you get When you mess with us For a minute there I lost myself, I lost myself Phew, for a minute there I lost myself, I lost myself
I had my first day of work at my new job today, and I left feeling so excited and happy and not overwhelmed at all. Hoping this is an excellent sign of a great future with the NRECA. ⚡️💗
I got to dress like a dragon for a parade today, and friends, dressing like a dragon as an adult is AWESOME. I am living my best self in this photo. Happy May! Welcome Spring!
Today’s office. My seat was directly next to this camera, so this was my view. What an incredible moment to witness and an honor to photograph. (I don’t ever post here about where I work, but seeing that I am changing jobs at the end of this week, I’m breaking my rule for the King.)
Alexandria/Arlington friends with little kiddos! I have some free boxes out today with some nice things (especially for Mickey fans). If you’re interested in anything, message me and I can send you our address. (Yes Alexandrians, you’ll have to cross the border but I promise Arlington won’t bite.)
Behold, my magnet collection in June 2024. I took this just before I packed up my desk. I wanted to remember it fully; the magnets now live in a box.
No no no no, I found the original photo on Instagram and LOOK AT THESE FLAVORS. Where is the outrage over this?
I can’t even begin, @darthbluesky.bsky.social. But here’s a shmoop that resembles my dog on our couch.
It continues today, both the basement-dwelling and the dog living her best life. And I took precautions on making sure I didn’t get poisoned by caffeine.
While I sat in my basement-level office working while unintentionally caffeinated all day, my dog had The Best Day Ever. Photo courtesy of @headintheclouds.bsky.social.
Voted for the lane name at the Old Town Trader Joe’s in honor of the city employees winning their union vote! Union strong! 💪🎉
