A vintage ceramic frog sculpted in a cartoony style, glazed in a dark metallic glaze. Its hands are in its crotch for some reason (look, sculpting & slip molding hands is hard!) & it's got human teeth. It's impossible to tell if it's smiling or grimacing or what is happening with its face. but it's bad, whatever it is.

The same deranged mind that came up with camp pad thai (mine)! Corn roasted in the coals while the water boils for the noodles.

Ingredients on a campsite picnic table. A can of chicken, 2 ears of corn wrapped in foil, 2 limes, rice noodles, a pack of pad thai sauce & a jar of roasted peanuts.

Post barely remembered book covers from your childhood.

Cover of a 1991 middle grade book by James Howe called Dew Drop Dead. Two young teen white boys are shining a flashlight into a dark abandoned looking inn. The boys are in era appropriate stone washed jeans, pastel sweatshirts & a denim button up shirt. The hair is floppy. 11 year old you would love it.

Mama Kitty had a seizure tonight right when we were headed to bed. I'm so worried. The emergency vet told us to wait until we could get into our regular vet tomorrow because she was acting normally afterwards. She's had such a hard go of it & just started this chapter, I don't want her to be sick.

This is th endangered pygmy hippos' entire range. They are well suited to captivity & due to their size can be given really appropriate housing & care. There may very well in our lifetime become a time in our lifetime when zoo breeding efforts are the reason the species survives climate destruction

I took this pic on a strenuous hike in Glacier National Park weeks before the car wreck that changed my whole life, so it's a big symbol of "before" for me It's also a big symbol of the state of our climate. The haze was from 3 terrible wildfires. That's the shrinking Grinnell Glacier on the right.

I don't have a stroller yet, but we do go on a LOT of drives until the heat hits! Two of our girls love car rides & they all love going out in the yard on the leash to eat grass (so they can barf it on the carpet later, yay thanks!)

Snapped pic on the porch to show my mama, but my youngest said "look at this sweet cabinet" at the thrift store today & WHOA. My bonus grandma (neighbor lady who had no grandkids & loved me SO MUCH) had this exact one & I used to store all my tiny treasures in it. Total sense memory when I saw it.

Wanted to cut some English daisies from the yard to press before it rains, but it's so gray out they're still curled up like it's night time. The clover is open, but the daisies are not having it! Pressing bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) instead, in an experiment to see how they hold up.

Even Ted Cruz, a literal walking talking piece of shit, has used his tattoo against him. Platner was absolutely right in saying what he said here, but Cruz immediately used it as an opportunity to bring up one of Platner's many glaring flaws. This isn't going to go unsaid if he wins the primary.
