A lovely man. But needs a bit o’ filling out for Godlike status. Way back in my crazy three-sport days, we loved them allover beefier. The best of them could and still can come close to the top professional performances in the single sports of swimming, biking & running
Work to do outside that can’t wait. Masked up Canadian wildfires have turned the sky sickly yellow. Sun hat helps keep the deer flies and horseflies from biting. Sunglasses…well, occasionally the sun appears like an alien, bright-orange ball.
Well yes, a 3-day extreme heat warning. Old people shouldn’t go out, but cool weather crops will shoot to seed. So I went out early, harvested broccoli & and enough beautiful salad greens for a week. Also a quick picking of pod peas & the last pitiful strawberries
We share a bear (maybe bears) with our near neighbor. She has much less land behind her house, so she receives up-close-and-personal visits quite often. This handsome guy was a bit huffy this morning, but chill as my friend shooed him off. No fear.
You perhaps in 20 years without the burden of heavy drug use earlier in life. Here he was at your age.
These: Nixtamalized masa flour, olive oil…we consider them a whole grain & eat a lot of them. 😂 mininatortilla.com/collections/... Open a bag, eat them for breakfast and finish them off at your desk when you get to work, and voilà! Your whole grains for 3-4 days.
Yes, we have ticks, ticks, and more ticks. And then more and more ticks. Capturing ticks between two layers of cellophane tape takes almost as much time as the gardening tasks. Still, to avoid getting bitten I wear a head-to-toe mesh suit and cover my exposed parts with 20%Picaridin lotion.
Just-dug young dandelions, ready to clean (& clean & clean & clean) for supper. Deep memories of my Vermont childhood. Slice & caramelize a large onion in a little olive oil. Add the greens w a little water & steam until soft.
Still creaking along. First cord of 2027 firewood delivered Thursday. Started hardening off onions yesterday. Broccoli seeds sprouted this morning. Preparing to head for Saturday noon vigil a few miles up the road. My social event of the week! You & yours?
I baked bread & began preparing our little solar greenhouse for spring planting between learning that ICE agents had terrorized a neighborhood in Burlington, Vermont & that Saudi Aramco has been negotiating to buy drone interceptors from Ukraine to protect its oil fields from Iran.
Noem shot a misbehaving puppy and a goat. Markwayne picked other people‘s noses while they were sleeping & photographed himself doing it.
When you discover the ladybugs crawling all over your windows & walls that you’ve carefully captured and placed in the solar greenhouse to eat aphids… have actually come indoors to mate.
Ah! The February ‘Weddings’ supplement. Outdoor weddings popular again. What a gorgeous photo of the happy couple dancing through a field of late-summer wildflowers. But imagine all the questing ticks those swirling layers of tulle will collect. I hope she’s chosen a permethrin-infused gown!
Lovely! Ours ain’t so pretty. Expected 2-3 inches, got 7.5. Our faithful plow guy finally got his rig fixed & we just got plowed out. So grateful !
I do a lot of home baking. Went searching for a couple of small glass loaf pans, which voice recognition called, “small glass loaf pants with handles.“
