The hand and thumb continue to heal, but each surgery (two on the same hand) are taking their own time. the carpal tunnel surgery is healing faster than the thumb surgery, but I suppose that's to be expected, really.
Hand exercise time! Second cup of coffee (a tasty flat white) currently being onboarded via the unaffected hand.
At the physical therapy end of recovering from surgery (take THAT, arthritis!), so that’s good. My PT says I can play ukulele to regain finger flexibility after being in a cast for a month, but I must be careful to avoid stressing my healing thumb. I feel like I scavenged stormtrooper armor.
So, while we have not yet had clear evidence of verification of alien life released to the general public, he has now let us know that zombies are real.
I love playing mine. I got it because I travel a lot, and this will actually fit into my backpack while still inside its well-padded case. Mine’s an Ohana O’Nino Sopranissimo. (The rather colorful soft cloth strap is made by the very nice lady from Massachusetts at #QuiltsAndUkuleles)
This has probably come out because Trump is threatening to terminate govt contracts with him now. 🤣
A wonderful photographer came by my booth at the #VermontSciFiFantasyAndHorrorExpo and took this wonderful photo of me... It's become my new official headshot and is also on my performer business cards.
Recovering from my latest hand surgery. Hopefully this will be the last one my right hand requires. #UnusualBrokenWristComplications #TendonTransplant #WhatFreshHell
First day at the Vermont Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Expo completed. One more day here, and I look forward to meeting more folks! Got a new hat today…
Laying in my bed in the horse puddle, getting a graphic novel version of Tech Support: An Infernal Tale, ready for publication. It will contain not only the graphic novel, but the short story it is based upon. Really looking forward to getting it out there.
The wrist continues to heal, though not as quickly as I would like it to heal. My cast is supposed to come off on the 14th, so as it will be Pi Day that day I will, of course have pi(e) to celebrate the removal. Then, unhindered strumming will commence! #Ukulele #UkuleleStrong
A fun little thing to play… #Ukulele #UkuleleHallelujah ##UkuleleHallelijahSpoof
Not-so-horrible left-handed makeup application this morning in my basement office. I am *not* left-handed. I cannot wait to have the use of my right arm and hand again!
It doesn't matter that I broke my motherfucking wrist, had surgery to fix it, and am now in a cast. I will #persist and #resist. #NoKings #SaveOurDemocracy
You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. “How is the weather condition over there now.” ?!?! Your translation app hasn’t quite grasped English, has it? Blocked.
For those who, like me, play the ukulele, but who, for whatever reason., have issues with some chord shapes, this might help a bit. #ukulele
Breaking in new shoes for the Japan trip. For the record, wearing brand new shoes that have not been broken in when you are on a trip where you will be doing a lot of walking, is monumentally stupid. These are currently on sale for about $42 on the Merrell site. VERY comfy!
Back from this year's Vermont Holiday Market. I had a great time helping to bring the spirit of the season to children and adults alike. (The young person's face has been redacted from this picture to help preserve their privacy)
Practicing my ukulele playing for all this weekend at the Vermont Holiday Market in Essex Junction VT, where I will appear as Mrs Claus.
And "Mom" can go and suck a rancid duck, as far as I'm concerned. The child's Mom did a lovely job explaining LGBTQ to a youngster.
Part of the day was also spent with Matilda the Elf. She's lovely. The one with all of the very dark hair is Annie. She turned 8 today, and was *very* happy to see us.
My next appearance as Mrs Santa will be Saturday, December 7th and 8th, at the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction, Vermont. If you're in the area, come on by for a visit, and meet me and Santa, the man, Himself!
