Doing a #plant exchange at our annual work retreat and I made a couple of little #watercolor #paintings for two people flying (the one on the left is for my Canadian colleague so I had to rep the maple leaf). #art #gardening #houseplants I'm very inexperienced with WC but I want to get better.

I can't possibly relax during garden season, so I started a new project for my veg garden. It's not very pretty now but hopefully it will look better when I'm done. Free pallets and carpet squares from my brother will be the base for containers (also hopefully upcycled stuff I can find).

I discovered some Dutch baby slices in the freezer the other day, so I had a lovely Sunday #brunch with minimal work. #breakfast #food

I just realized this fan is about 20 years old. I borrowed & never returned (aka stole) it from my roomie back in '08ish. I've abused the shit out of it & it keeps chugging along. It reminds me of the good times we had back then. A time machine fan. I'll be a bit sad when it finally dies. #nostalgia

I knock it onto the floor at least once a week and every time I think, "That's it, RIP fan" but nope. Little bastard keeps kicking. I have a picture somewhere from when Julius (RIP) my cat was a kitten and he tormented my roommate. Said roommate took a pic of Jules playing on his bed, this fan in the background, and sent it to me. That roommate (one of my best friends at the time but with whom I no longer speak) pretended he hated him, but he loved that cat. So yes, this fan makes me miss my roommates and miss my cat 🙃

Good #caturday morning. Cassius doesn't quite understand that his sitting on me does the opposite of what he's trying to accomplish (getting me out of bed).

My sister's talk to text mishap just made my day.

A text message reading "Abby's head will hunt her way around noon" followed by a correction "head" which might have made it even funnier. Compounding this, I watched a horror documentary last night (In Search of Darkness) that featured the floating zombie head from Evil Dead 2.

I've started a new project. I covered my veg plot with landscape sheeting and had planned to uncover it next year. But this isn't a good spot; it floods in spring, bringing insane weeds. So I'm going to make a raised #garden spot. This is the before. After will be after I gather the supplies. #diy

It was my vegetable plot. There are two wooden pallets with grayish tan carpet tiles thrown on top of them. I'm plotting it out. The plan is to cut and nail the carpet to the pallets. Multiply to six (2 rows of three) then I will put mulch or stone between them for aesthetics. Finally, I'll put some containers atop (for next season). This is an experiment that I hope works out. Because I can't possibly just relax in the summer. And I don't want to put a permanent patio down.

I love the choose-your-own adventure #horror games by Supermassive. They're more like #movies than #videogames (not a ton of gameplay) but they're so much fun. The Casting of Frank Stone dude was fucking terrifying. I only had one survivor and he noped out back into the time machine. #playstation

He is absolutely terrifying, with his lower jaw missing, part of his skull peeled away, wearing like leathery stuff (probably skin) and chains from the steel mill. He's got pieces of metal embedded in his body, jutting out of his arms, shoulders, and torso. Backstory: he was a serial killer who wore a cool, scary homemade welder's mask with the lower mouth part cut away into jagged fangs, and when the sheriff's deputy shot him, he fell into a vat of molten steel. Hence the hybrid monster that will haunt my dreams forever.

I went #hiking in the mountains of Vermont years ago, foolishly bringing only my legs. I used felled branches as walking sticks and brought two home with the intention of cleaning them up.They sat in my garage until I finally decided I should get on that. #crafts #crafting #procrastination #memories

A stripped, sanded, and polished walking stick made from an old branch I found in the woods of Vermont. The picture doesn't do it justice. I have no idea what it is; I assume maple or oak since it's Vermont. I left a lot of the color from the bark when I sanded because I love it. It's honey-colored wood with deeper brown and black markings. I drilled holes toward the top for a leather strap (I still need to go get the leather). I intended to cap the bottom with a brass plumbing cap, but it would have messed with the aesthetic. So I screwed a rubber washer on the bottom. I'm not actually going to use this as a walking stick, but I did it anyway.

Had some leftover french fries so I made a cheeseburger salad. Follow for more health tips. #food #cooking

A bed of french fries with a chopped up burger, shredded cheddar, and chopped burger toppings (spinach because I don't eat lettuce, red grape tomatoes, and dill pickle). I made a sauce of mayo, ketchup, yellow mustard (cuz that's what I put on my burgers) with a splash of worcestershire, some garlic powder and paprika. The sauce is kind of light peach colored. It's all in a shallow green pasta dish with a white rim. It looks like a salad. It is not a salad. It's garnished with a few french fries.

The great thing about willows is they grow fast given the right conditions (and my floody backyard is "right conditions"). The downside is they need to be pruned at least twice/year and I skipped his fall pruning. #garden #gardening #trees Third pic is my pretty maple garden just because.
